Have your parents ever tried any drugs?

My dad told me he did weed once as a kid. My mom says she never has, and I believe her. She doesn't seem like the type to have ever done anything like that.

My parents both used to smoke weed all the time. They don't care that my brothers and I do. They freak out about tobacco, though, since it's addictive.

dude, my parents grew up in the 60s / 70s...... my Dad was a biker...... hell yeah they tried weed.

my Dad still blazes occasionally. my Mom, maybe once every 2 years.

Both my parents smoked pot at a friends house years and years back so they tell me. Otherwise they didn't smoke regularly. They really don't care that much if I were to try it or not. In fact my father has suggested it might help with my anxiety and depression problems.

My dad for sure, he's told me. My mom, I don't know. She isn't the type at all but I wouldn't be surprised if she tried it before.

It depends on the person as far as "anxiety and depression problems". Smoking makes my anxiety about 1000x more.

I rebelled against my parents by not doing drugs.

But seriously, they were hippies living in San Franscisco. Dad even wrote a couple of books on counterculture, and "It's Happening" allegedly was held up to the camera in an episode of The Monkees.

Me, I'm a boring software developer who only does caffeine and chocolate 🙂

My father was into hardcore drugs, so much he wore his body out and died at 44. My mother smoked weed but only a few times and then quit. She's one of those "didn't like how it made me feel" types.

my parents are both potheads... whether they've ever done anything more serious, idk.

my rebellion was voting for Bush in 2000 and not doing drugs. despite nearly all of my college friends smoking pot on a pretty regular basis, I didn't light up for the first time until I was like 22, when I was making out with this girl that I was really good friends with outside of a bar in williamsport, pa and she handed me a hand-rolled "cigarette" with pot in it and told me to smoke it (I was also super drunk at the time).

I'll still smoke on occasion in social situations, but I've never purchased it (nor would I even know how) and I smoke very rarely (once in a month is a lot)

Never bothered to ask them, don't care. I never did drugs, nor do I have any inclination to do drugs. I just leave it at that.

Mine grew up in the 60/70's, from some of the stories I can safely say weed was the most mellow thing they did.

Same here. My dad played around with chemistry with his engineering buddies when he was younger. He told us stories about making MDA in a bath tub, etc.

My mother was born in 34, my father in 24. The closest they come to drugs, is my father had moonshine on a few occasions :^D

I'm older than most of you guys. My dad was a jazz musician in the 40's and 50's. Oh, yeah, he used drugs.

Sadly, my mom was a dancer but then she had heart trouble, and developed other complications - kidneys, etc. Her docs pumped her so full of drugs over the years that she was, by the end, completely crazy. Her last endocrinologist made out a chart of everything the different docs were giving her, it was horrible. She's a perfect example of "this is your brain on drugs" but it was all doctors and she didn't know what was going on.

I of course had a strict rule about using any drugs. Only on days of the week ending in "y".

My parents both smoked a lot of weed. Since they are divorced, my mom once said to me "Part of me thinks that the only reason we fell in love and got married was because we got high together so much" or something like that. It's kind of sad, but funny in a way. Not sure if they ever tried harder drugs, but I wouldn't be suprised if they did.

Were you at the time still debating whether to come out?
