I drive aggressively, but defensively. That hasn't changed. I have started to accelerate a bit slower, drive slower overall, and coast into stops more to conserve gas. Woohoo.

I never understand why so many people approach turns / stops like maniacs and then slam the brakes. What is the purpose?

It's amazing how your mind can play tricks on you after you've been in an accident whether it was your fault or not.

Earlier this month I was sideswiped by a pickup truck when they came into my lane without looking. Now it seems every other car is coming into my lane even though they aren't. Usually takes a month or two for this to pass.

Not so much with age...but with geography.

Before we moved to California, I was a good, cautious driver. I've driven commercial vehicles nearly all my life, so I'm a good, safe driver by nature...but when we moved to CA, I found myself driving faster, just to avoid being run over on the freeway. Then, once I started commuting into the SF Bay area daily...I started driving faster and faster...and using the exit lanes as passing lanes to jump a few cars ahead of the crowd.

Now that we're no longer in CA...and I'm retired, I'm back to driving the speed limit (or within 5 of it) all the time. It's a MUCH slower pace here...and I LIKE it.

So you got on the off-ramp, floored it and then went back up into traffic in the far right lane?, sounds like a Mad-Max style of driving LOL..

Nope...not quite. In many places, there is a lane for the off-ramp. It ends at the foot of the off ramp...lots of commuters will drop into that ramp, race up to pass traffic that's stopped in the parking lot of 580...then cut back in to traffic...then do it again at the next off ramp.

I became on of those... On good days...I'd get ahead of 20-30 other idiots on the roadway...():)

I'm patient and just take it easy.

Never been in a wreck, never going to be in a wreck.

When I felt the need to go fast I rented a shifter Kart and went around a track for fun, consistently smoked people there too ironically.

More patient. Look at the aggressive drivers, most of the time they don't beat a normal driver to a destination in the city because of stoplights.

People do this all the time here and just just causes people to miss their exit.

Plus when they do it really late and go through the no-man's land area, they just kick up all sorts of crap on other driver's cars.

The other idiots are those that milk the passing lane at or less than the speed limit and then try to cut 4 lanes of traffic for their exit at the last possible second.

I drive fast at times. I drive safe, I keep things consistent and try to avoid passing on the right and never weave in and out.
