A couple of years ago I won an XBOX 360 from the McDonalds Monopoly game (instant win).

About a year later, I won a prize from Charter promo e-mail. It's the usual promo e-mail that was sent to every subscriber every month or so. All I needed to do was clicked on the e-mail and entered my name and address. It was an iPod Touch.

I have never won anything before or after these two.

I won my JV 200 yard swim "conference" meet by a HUGE margin. This was back in like 1996 I was a Junior in high school and had been demoted from the Varsity team because I was missing too many Saturday practices because of my job schedule.

Had I still been on the Varsity team, I would have been in the middle of the pack. That said after 3 years of working out 3+ hours 6 days week for 3 years, I was still around 240 pounds.... I was without a doubt, the fastest fat person in my district ... hehehe.

Heh, I won tons of medals and trophies as a swimmer, and set numerous team and pool records.

One decidedly non-standard highlight was placing 7th, at age 10, in the 1500 meter freestyle at the Mid-Atantic (NY, NJ, PA, Del, & Maryland) Olympic Swim Development Meet. It was open age group event. There was one other kid my age, and the next youngest was 17, in an overall field of 25 of the fastest swimmers from those states.

The only thing I knew was that I wasn't going to let that other young'un beat me, so I promptly opened up a full 50 yard lead on his ass.

With about 8 laps (400 meters) to go, I was feeling strong, so I picked up my pace. We all had minders shouting our lap counts to us at each end. I sort of noticed a lot movement. They thought I'd misheard my lap count. Funny thing was, I felt really strong the whole way, but when I finished, I couldn't even pull myself out of the pool. Adrenaline can do wonders! :p

Hmmm...

Oddly, over the years, I've won a number of cutting boards in raffles. So many in fact it is a running joke in my family whenever a raffle comes around.

I've won $600 playing bingo, a boombox from a record store, tickets to the local comedy club all the time. Won tickets to concerts on the radio.

The wife and I won first place in our local bowling tournament. We had not bowled in 20 years our handicap was so high no one could beat us :) lol

I won a copy of MechWarrior 2: Mercenaries years ago from Gamespot. Thing is, I didn't even have MechWarrior 2 at the time. Had to go out and buy it - totally worth it though, one of the greatest games ever.

Haven't won anything since then :(

very little

I've won a few bucks on lottery tickets, never more than $10.
I won a cheap pocket knife at a previous job.
My biggest win was winning aftershow passes to met Joe Satriani. This was my first concert ever. It was Joe and Dream Theater. Unfortunately my friend and I didn't realize when we were supposed to go see him (right after his set). We waited til the end of the whole show and they told us he had left. We ended up meeting Dream Theater though, so it was still pretty cool.

the last thing i won was a Maxpedition bag from one of the gearhog.com giveaways.

Coolest thing I ever won was a contest for the movie "The Sandlot", ended up winning a green baseball bat that I used for many years.

I won at Bingo a while back, $1,200.

Besides that I have won a couple small things here and there, but nothing that pops out.

I hit 600 on a slot machine as well. I hardly even gamble too.

Won tickets to concerts on the radio.

That reminds me. I used to win concert tickets on the radio all the damn time. I was into WXPN, the UofP NPR station, long before it got "big." So, I could reliably win tickets since so few other people were dialing in to be the "4th caller."

Then someone hipped me to branch out to the other, infintesimally smaller, local college stations, like Swarthmore and Widener. With them, it got so I could just call in and ask them what they had, and they'd pretty much just give me whatever they had. I saw a ton of free, good music that way.

Also had a female friend who worked at the Chestnut Cabaret in Philly. Just by knowing her, I "won" repeated free entry to that place. The likes of Taj Mahal and David Bromberg (and his Big Band) regularly played that place.

Here 'ya go, the web delivers:

Many famed bands played there including Albert Collins, Al Stewart, Alex Chilton, Alien Sex Fiend, Albert King, Average White Band, Beru Revue, Blue Öyster Cult, Bootsy's Rubber Band, Buddy Guy, Buster Poindexter, Butthole Surfers, Buzzcocks, Chris Whitley, Chris Isaak, The Connells, Consolidated, MC 900 Ft. Jesus, David Bromberg, De La Soul, Dead Milkmen, Dee Dee Ramone, Devo, Dizzy Gillespie, Donovan, Dread Zeppelin, Electric Love Muffin, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Fishbone, Hardline, Ice-T/Body Count, Jane Siberry, Jesus Jones, John Lee Hooker, John Entwistle, Judy Collins, King's X, Kitchens of Distinction, Living Colour, Meat Puppets, Mojo Nixon, Naked Raygun, NRBQ, Parliament-Funkadelic, Phish, Pogues, Psychic TV, Ramones, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Richard Thompson, The Roches, Schoolly D, Sonic Youth, Soul Asylum, The Hooters, Stanley Clarke, Steel Pulse, Steve Forbert, The Bears (featuring Adrian Belew), The Fall, The Replacements, The Tubes, They Might Be Giants, Third World, Tower of Power, X, Warren Zevon, Wire, Wynton and Branford Marsalis.

very nice!
We did the 1650 yards every winter before Winter Break for fun. One of the guys on the team had been swimming competitively since he was very young, he smoked everybody else. I simply didn't have the endurance to do that well there. But I always finished, even if it took me nearly half an hour ..... I was more or less a sprinter, but, due to bad form, couldn't keep up on the 50 or the 100, however, I could keep almost the same pace for the 200 as the 100....

I really ought to go to the pool a few days per week and swim a couple thousand yards ... would be nice to drop some of this weight ...

Largest was winning $150 in church bingo. If there wasn't another winner, it would've been $300. :p Won a couple other <$100 prizes for a credit union drawing.

I've won sports awards and trophies as a kid. A tiny bit at poker with friends. Maybe a couple slots.

But I've never won any sort of lottery, raffle or sweepstakes.
