I've never seen printf used before..

What kind of library is included there? How's it differ from..the one where you use cin/cout?

printf is c, not c++ right?

printf is ANSI C but still widely used in C++.

C library functions aren't taught to the youngins since they ain't object-orientin' enough for them fancy-pants perfessers. Back in my day 'tweren't no STL nor "standard library" so we had to use C functions and like 'em!

Plus we wore an onion on our belt, which was the style at the time . . . .
