Drivers up to date? Maybe its another component in the pc, like the RAM or CPU? Post system specs.

Turned off all optimizations

Including TRAA ? I would have guessed a problem with that. If you tell me what map that is, I can check it out. I dont normally play CS:S so I don't know offhand.

Shaking? I have noticed the grass in Battlefield 2 shakes up and down for some reason on my 7800GT. I use gamma-corrected TRSSAA. Haven't tried it without.

He's using the latest official drivers. He tried the drivers that came on the CD with the card, but it was the same thing. The map is de_nuke, and the gif file is to show what happens - he recorded it from gameplay. The shaking is not limited to just the fences, even certain other world objects like buildings shake slightly if you look at them up close. Also he thought it was a power issue, but he now plugged in the card into a separate 12v line and it doesnt help.

System specs:
A64 3200
DFI Ultra D
1 gig mem
PNY 7800gt
X-Finity 600W PSU

Oh, oops, my proxy was blocking that.

Hmm, I've never seen that specifically, but I have seen the grass going up and down in Battlefield 2 as I moved (with a 7800GT).

Also, the gif seems to play slow in IE - the actual vibration is faster in gameplay.

Difficult to transport a shaking image without an animated GIF or movie, isnt it? :p

But I havent seen anything like that on my GT so far.

How often does it happen in the game? i've seen plenty of games do that...where something will shake (usually textures)...but if its like, happening all the time and just started with this new card...hmm...

try a different card?

He had a 6600gt before, and it never happened. Also, it doesnt shake all the time - sometimes if you crouch then the scene stops shaking. it's weird - I'm not even sure if it's a game issue or a video card issue.
