Have you seen a Horned Toad? recently?extinct?

I live in Texas and as a lad one of my favorite pets was the gentle Horned Toad,I don't know the scientific name? The Horned Toad was/is the mascot of TCU University,I have not seen one in many many years,one of the state agencies put out a sightings alert long ago but I never heard any more from that.

I used to catch them all the time when I was desert training north of Ft. Bliss, TX (1990-1994). They are out there, they stay away from humans though.

Yeah, I saw one in a warehouse building place when we openned up. This was in San Antonio.

I just saw one the other day as a matter of fact...and in Texas also. When I was a kid I used to catch them and keep them for a few days then let them go back into the woods. They are very intresting little creatures.

Yes, went for a walk with the wife in the woods by our house in Round Rock TX "about 15 minutes form down town Austin"

the other day and saw 20 to 30 of them in about a hour.

That's cool,my son lives in Austin and a friend works for Dell and lives in Roundrock,I'll ask them to be on lookout. Guess they migrated there to get their grove on
