There was a time in my past when I was not feeling so gung ho about life. I think we all go through some sort of thoughts like that at one point or another.

I've been depressed, it always crosses your mind but it's never a good option. I've also have friends that have unsuccessfully tried. Sad.

Depends on the level of depression. Everyone gets depressed and the thought crosss their mind. But it's another thing to seriously consider it.

i attempted suicide just recently back in january. i was going to shoot myself in the head, but the cops caught me in attempt and i was sent to rehab for that. did rehab help? no. it just made me more depressed. i couldnt have gotten through without my friends

to be honest, some of those "good friends" that helped me get through are not my friends anymore. unfortunately, they were just there because they wanted attention from helping me. once i got better, they just ditched me. the real good friends were some of my best friends' parents, who did more than anyone to help me out. come to think about it now, i have a LOT of friends, but only 2 friends who will be there for me and care for me like they really mean it.

That's cool. Of course, my good friend completly fvcked me over... Haven't talked to him for about 5 or 6 years now. Never will, I imagine. Oh the irony.

Definitely true, I couldn't have made it through either without the support of close friends and meeting people who were in the same type of situations.

Definitely true, I couldn't have amde it through either without the support of close friends and meeting people who were in the same type of situations.

the people i met in rehab were some of the best people i've ever met. they were whom i could relate to and talk to. the only thing friends can do is worry and care for u, but almost all of my friends couldnt relate or understand the way i felt. they've never understood what it was like to never feel happy and depressed and suicidal. they think going through a breakup is hell and then say, "oh, now i know how u feel". well, i was depressed because i had no choice but to accept it from the events in my life.

Yeah, the part I dislike the most is people who say it's as simple as state of mind.

That crap drives me nuts, some people don't understand the fact that I may not have control over that side of my brain, it just is what it is. Make any sense to anyone?

my best friend hung himself to avoid two years in jail. he did it right in his front yard and nobody noticed it for at least 6 1/2 hours. me, his little brother, and a kid down the street found him hangin there in the morning.. screwed us all up pretty bad.

lol while its true Michael, that most teenagers and quite a few people do go through this feeling, there are however bonafide situations where this feeling last more than a little while. When it becomes the normal state of mind, it is not just an angst filled phase. There are some who feel that there is no other solution than to end their lives.

All I'm trying to say is that there are two groups of people in this category. Those who are simply in a phase, and those who are in a state of mind. The latter is a much more serious a desperate situation that can have dire consequences.

having a gun to my head for about 6 hours in my own standoff? ya. i even tried firing, but the bullet somehow got smashed inside the chamber. its a really old pistol and when i finally took the smashed bullet out before i was "arrested", it was crushed into the backing.

Yeah, the trigger pull would be an attempt. The holding the gun to the head...not an attempt.
