Have you jailbroken your iPhone/touch?

Have you jailbroken your iphone/touch?

Thinking of jailbraiking my touch but will probably wait til os 3 comes out, and it's jailbroken.

no

thought about doing it since i would like to run Pandora in teh background but overall it wasn't worth the hassle

No. My employer owns it, so I don't have a choice. I haven't seen any compelling reason to do it anyway.

there is a "jailbroken" app that will allow you to use the iPhone's internet connection as a WAP, so you don't have to pay for "tethering" and your iPhone just acts as a regular wireless access point via it's wifi connection matching up to its internet connection so your laptop can use it to connect to the internet

I didn't for a long time, then tried it out to see what it was like. I un-jailbroke it because I didn't like it. Cydia and its apps were slow, laggy, and buggy.

I have had 3 itouch break so far, I dont really care for them and apple has replaced all of them no questions, I dont want to mess that up by voiding the warranty

There's also an app that lets the iPhone act as a wireless router, I haven't personally tried it but it sounds amazing.

So far the only thing i really couldn't live without on the jailbreak is the keyboard themes, the 5th row keyboard and cycorder app. People that claim the jailbreak makes the phone laggy are probably mistaking that for the keyboard themes making input lag.

Jailbroken apps that I like:
SBSettings - which enables/disables various features without diving deep into the Settings menus.
Backgrounder - enables you to background things like Skype, Pandora and IM apps. So if you are listening to Pandora and want to check your email, the music doesn't stop.
Winterboard - enables massive recustomization of the GUI

I don't recall, but I remember it was in like a PC World magazine article of all things

The app is called "PDANet" and it's available on the Cydia jailbroken iPhone installer.

I did it mainly for the customizable UI features which is nice. I also plan on getting backgrounder running for pandora as well.

I went through the exact same cycle. Some of the apps were cool, but they killed my battery and made the phone slow as molasses.

Sounds like you didn't know what you were doing. Sometimes you do have to uninstall things if it drains - doesn't make jailbreaking bad.

No. Is there any reason that would make it worth the trouble?

Heck yeah! The following were reasons enough for me.

PDANet, for those times I need internet, and can get free wifi.
Backgrounder, so I can play Pandora or Slacker in the background.
hClipboard, to cut & paste.
xGPS, to use as a GPS.
VoIPover3G, so I can use Slingplayer over 3G.
