Here's what it would look like if you plotted time on the x-axis and then a line representing computers and one representing girlfriends on the y-axis:

Girlfriends stays constant at ZERO and Computers steadily rises over time.

What the hell constitutes a new computer? I would venture to guess only a small percentage of ppl here get a whole new computer in one shot. I may replace a board and chip and keep everything else or whatever.

Yea good point. My current PC just kinda "evolves" as different parts get replaced or added.

That's tough, I mean, I could really sneak by with saying I've only had 1 computer over the years and have just kept upgrading it as necessary.
 
Computers: 4 (first one was a family PC, 4th is just an evolution of #3, but the only parts I still have are case, monitor & keyboard)
So 2/3 computers.
Girlfriends: 5

The two I've had were for at least a year each. I'm now reaching 2 years with my 2nd one.

BTW, I'm counting girls who thought they were going steady with me, rather than the mutual feeling.... just about doubles my list when I include stalkers and month long tip-drills 🙂

Mothballed or dismantled and sold machines:
trash80, LC, LC3, GossamerG3, YosemiteG3, Econoline (Celeron 1.7/400) and my old Powermac I used as an alarmclock
Current Machines:
Scramjet (in rigs profile) and Magellan (my server)....

10:9 in favor of girls

I wish I could upgrade my girlfriend, I'd give her an LN2 injected cooling system and overclock the sh!t out of her..... more ram..... anything that would give her greater logical capacity and a bigger dynamic comprension field.... Aux FPU mabye?
