I'm not trying to set up a ATI vs Nvidia debate here. I'm just wondering what people's general experience has been like.

I've had my first SLI rig for just about over a month now and I haven't had any problems. 2x MSI N460GTX Hawk SLI in Windows 7, separate cards in OS X (10.7.1)

I'm still diagnosing, but I believe BF3 has given me issues. Looking to just go for the high-end single card next time and avoid doubling up until further in the future.

How do you define "issues"? If everybody were honest, they would say yes. Late profiles (AMD: Skyrim), no profiles (Nvidia: Settlers 7)...
And if your framerate is low enough, you will have microstuttering - which I would definitely call an issue.

The question is not specific enough in my opinion. Maybe you could have made a poll with multiple options.

Running 2 x 560Ti at 1920x1200, no noticable issues (other than Rage not supporting it, but without the texture pack, who cares?).

Two things:

1.) Heat. One of my cards will not tollerate a temp of over 70c due to the overclock and stock cooling just wasn't enough. So if anyone currently owns an OC'd card and plan to add another be aware the added heat may compramise your oc. Bought an aftermarket cooler like I did with the oc'd card and the problem was resolved.

2.) I notice that in order to get the full SLI effects in some games you *must* enable " Disable Vertical Sync " in the nVidia game profile. Some games shut off VS, but some don't, even when you DO have it shut off within the in-game options.

Other than that its been awesome. Thought perhaps my X6 might hinder performance but for any title that counts I'm getting twice the performance and in most case's much much more. Not a single issue maxing out GPU usage either. Very cool upgrade for the money, nVidia/Ati have done a lot to make using two cards painless and anyone complaining about dual card issues just isn't manipulating the settings for each game correctly IMO. There's very little tweaking which is what impresses me the most.

Seemless install, incredible ease of use, it's pretty much plug and play. Definitely enjoying it.

I voted "No Issues" but let me caveat that with very small issues. The most recent was a late Skyrim profile. 95% of the time I have had no problems and I love the extra performance two cards can offer.

I'm running Quad Fire Rig and of course I've had issues, both hardware and software issues. I've got 6990 and 2x6950 right next to one another and I had to increase spacing between them with plastic wedges, if I didn't do that they would overheat. I also had to wait for CF support (witcher 2, skyrim). I've never had a completely hassle free experience with any video card(s) I have ever owned. There're always issues whether you want to admit it or not. Every driver has a list of known issues.

Been a while since I've run either, but my last SLI rig (dual GTX 470s) was as problem free as any rig running the latest games. You'll eventually have to wait for patch or profile to fix something no matter what setup you run.

Depends on the definition. I've had negative CF scaling in GTA4, but I wouldn't call that a CF issue as much as a GTA4 issue.

None yet with the 5970; I only wish I could turn Xfire off easily.

I think one of the things that you really need to consider is whether or not the additional complexities of running SLI/CF are worth it given the performance gains you see. This is why it is generally recommended to buy a powerful single gpu over say two mid/lower end cards.

I see that the OP is running dual GTX 460's, which I would usually not recommend over a single card in a similar price range. Granted, I also understand that it's possible the OP's rig started out as a single card setup, and buying the second card might have been the best value upgrade to make. SLI/CF have gotten good enough that I think adding a second card as an upgrade is a viable option at this point.

This is me as well, I've had no problems with my "setup" at all--quiet, powerful--with the recent lack of game profiles available at launch being the only hiccup. The poll is very vague as presented.

Issues as in you can't play certain games without having to pull the cards out of xFire/SLI.
Middle of the road serious.

xfired 5870s. The only problems I've ever had with cross fire is with Skyrim. That shit was just annoying. Negative scaling for about 2.5 weeks until they had the beta drivers that would work with the 5 series. Of course that game is still buggy as hell and it's betheseda's issue not AMD's at this point. Other than Skyrim, there have been no issues.

Have had issues with both, but you can only vote once, so went with what I have currently.

For my current setup it's broken profiles with no scaling, graphics corruption in certain titles and having to avoid certain driver releases because they break features with SLI enabled.

Does a motherboard with two PCI-E 2.0 @ x16x8 bottleneck two 6950s in xFire? I am doing a eyefinity setup.

Very little problems w/ my 580 SLI setup. Problems usually fixed by updated drivers. I look at SLI like adding a twin turbo setup to your PC. wooopoosh! < blow off valve noise

The options are too black and white. I've never had any issues which prevented me from playing an enjoying a game and because of that I'm inclined to vote no.

But of course I've had minor quirks here and there, stuff that wasn't really a show-stopper to begin with and took less than 5 minutes to fix. Does a minor quirk count as an "issue"?
