Where a realization or action or idea just turned everything around?

If so I'm curious, please tell.

When you get married, your life is truely over.

Just kidding, but your life will change. More time at home, less time with friends.

fight club helped me realize that I was placing too much importance on material things. I have since donated or ebayed a lot of stuff. I'm trying to become more nomadic.
Hmm, that's actually a good one. Nice job!

NICE!

What's that book on how people in the US are basically mindless consumers?

My epiphany: Jobs are a dead end, start your own business.

:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

I've thought about this for a long time in college... then over this summer i had my "epiphany". Starting a business is definately what I am doing with my life.

My parents and my in-laws are in their 60's, which doesn't seem all that old once you hit your 30's like me. When I look at them, I see old people who can't do much of anything active any more because they have allowed their health to slide. Like the vast majority of people, they haven't actively pursued good health during their lifetimes, and now they think that its too late for them to do anything positive about their failing bodies.

On the other hand, I know two gentlemen in their 80's/90's who are still as active as they want to be. They run, play tennis, ski, exercise, and do anything else that they want to do. The reason they are able to do these things is because when they were younger they took steps to ensure they would be able to live they lives they wanted.

About 3 years ago, I was having some minor age-related health issues, and I really thought a lot about those two old guys. I came to the conclusion that I wanted to be in their group, and not the group in which my parents find themselves. I decided I was going to change my life and make myself as healthy as possible. Following this decision has brought me nothing but rewards and benefits.

After a bad trip once I decided that drugs are bad and quit doing all drugs (except of course for my good friend Mr. Alcohol). Does that count?

Yep. I had an epiphany when I discovered that politics are an insane religion and the U.S. 'government' is a complete scam.

For me, it was realizing that it's worth a hell of a lot to have good friends. I mean real, true friends.

I had plenty of friends who I thought were good friends, and one day I realized about three of them were really good friends. The rest were fun to be around, but either lied, stole, were selfish, backstabbing, or had some other serious character flaw.

Now I have about a dozen real friends. People who I could give a key to my house to, and never worry about it for a second. People I could call in the middle of the night for any reason, and they would be there as fast as possible. I would do the same for them.

Personally, that's improved the quality of my life immensely.

Yup, this is a good one.

Good Guys Do finish first occasionaly, It's just a lot harder to do. It takes a lot of failures, a lot of rejection, and several failed relationships and an unwaving persistence to keep trying. if after years of things failing, either you're trying to hard, or you're looking in the wrong places. Perhaps the answer stands behind you and not in front of you.
