Have you had a person step on you while laying on stomach?

I have my brother step on my back many times as I have chronic lower back pain. It feels so much better after having 150 pound of pressure being applied. It even cracks my spine and I feel a noticable relief as it feels like my body is more 'straighten up'

I just want to know what the science is behind it. How does pressure make you feel better?

Where can I go about reading more into this? What's a technical term for muscle doctor?

For those who don't know what I'm talking about:
1. Lay on your stomach on a flat surface with your face turned to either side.
2. Any surface is fine, harder the floor is better the strength (floor, carpet) and softer is gentler (on mattress, futon)
3. Have someone apply pressure to your target muscle. The person can use one foot or get on completely if you want more power/weight.
4. Have the person gently step on you by alternating feet and shifting weight.
5. You may optionally have the person do a half-jump to apply sudden pressure to crack your bones (relieves gas build up in joints)
6. Instant profit! No $$ required!

it probably feels a lot better because (im not saying you do ) but if you hunch over a lot or just a little at your computer and you dont straighten up very much so when your back gets straightened out .. not sure how that works .. it makes you feel better.. I dont have my brother step on me but my dad does crack, or pop my back (Basically giving me a big hug and squeezing my back lol)

You sure? I think it's a combination of muscles and bones... The relief feels so good but it's not quite from the bones nor the muscles....

i once had a gf's little sister do it. it felt pretty good, i must admit, but honestly having anyone crack my back scares the crap out of me. i don't like the idea of messing with my spine.

my dad would get us to do that when we were kids and give us some coins after... I thought that was weird, but did it for the coins anyway

flash forward about 30 years... I now offer my kid a coin for stepping on my back while I lay on my tummy! I'm sure he thinks it's weird !!

I used to have this done to me once in a great while until I read some story about a guy getting paralyzed from his girlfriend/wife doing it. Decided it wasn't worth the small risk.

I think what you're looking for is a chiropractor.

I always think this could be a good idea: release pressure, feel better. And then someone steps on my back, nothing cracks, and I can't breathe. It never turns out the way I envision it. :(
