I adapted a strategically placed stun gun to power on when my car alarm triggered.
I hacked a handheld, vibrating back massager to have more power with unfortunate results.

Hacked as in, changed the functionality of something to make it do what you want.

I swapped the bridge pickup in my guitar to get the sound I was looking for... does that count?

I've also rigged up a couple of the famous Motorcraft FL1A oil filters to filter automatic transmission fluid on a track car.

if all he did was use their connection for surfing, he didn't even have to do that.

I've "hacked" my DVD burners' firmware.

Though i didn't actually add any new media codes, just increased rip-speed.

Oh, & i used to use mIRC scripts for MSN chat room wars back in the day.

I ... hacked forum software to act as I wanted it to. Saved me $1000+ in development costs.

I've hacked an LCD screen to accept regular RCA input (not sure if that really counts), and some of the boring stuff people have already posted. I use to use hex editors to screw around with simple games (give me extra lives, etc) back when I used a mac.

I extended the transmit and receive range on one of my radios, and I'm working on modifying another radio from a transceiver to a 10 meter propogation beacon.
