Have you guys seen the Nike commercial, with the "slasher"?

You know... the one where the woman outruns "Jason" and his chainsaw.
"Why sport? You'll live longer."

NBC pulled that ad from their network, citing that it makes light of violence against women. I guess they had all sorts of protests against them.

Some people need to lighten up.

Can't the women's groups look at the spot, and say "Look how strong that woman was to get away"?

(btw, I love the part where "Jason" is bent over and wheezing to catch his breath. 😉 )

I saw that. I laughed my arse off. I then saw the deal on the news describing the decision to pull the ad. It's obviously a parody of the shlock/slash horror movies and not meant to encourage the abuse of women.

Yeah I saw it, I thought that it was pretty damn funny 🙂

And people are fricken hypocrites! :| It's no worse than the Chevy commercial with women screaming in their cars (actually images from slasher movies) as they try to start up their car and the "bad guy" is trying to get in the car. And why didn't they pull the advertisement for Scary Movie with Carmen Electra getting hit by a car? Isn't that violence against women? :Q

I wish these Women's Rights activists would just get a grip, shave their pits and legs, and put back on their bras...

<< put back on their bras >>

It's not easy to keep them on, the strap keeps slipping off those chips on their shoulders.

They pulled it cause of the woman?? HAAAAAA! The point was she was strong and fast while the slasher Jason dude couldn't run for SH|T Stupid NBC always doing whats PC

The woman just happens to be a professional runner in real life.

She wasn't protesting the commercial. But NBC and Nike are getting a bunch of flack over that ad. Some people are saying that the imagery promotes/perpetuates violence against women.

Ahhh that ads fairly lame.
I like the reebok(sp?) ad where the dude gites bitten on the leg by the snake and his bud has to suck out the poison, then some chick runs by and see's them.

Thats damn funny. I'll try to find it and post the link.

Found it Snake bite ad

WTF did they pull that for. That's displaying women's empowerment 😛

Still, nothing will ever be funnier than my favorite ad, I won't post the link cause of the content, but go to adcritic and search language. Its there 🙂

<< I think images like this perpetuate male-driven violence against women and we're deluding ourselves if we think showing these images doesn't. I don't think it's appropriate for an ad for sneakers. I'm really happy they pulled this ad. >>
