I don't know if that's what they wanted me to do, since they just dump you out at appointments, but every time I selected office visit, I get an immediate "appointment can't be made" message. So after a couple cycling's of that, I selected phone visit. After answering about 15 questions that had absolutely nothing to do with getting a COVID-19 vaccine I have an appointment for Friday afternoon so I can't talk to a human being, and get on somebodies list.
Well, doc said basically what I was trying to do online was what I should do to schedule my appointment. So I went through the circle jerk for probably the 20th time and whadda ya know. When I pressed the " this is what we recommend" button, I get a friggin response and it says "You're all set" Wha! So, I get a message to check for a Schedule Ticket. It should have said select "Schedule an Appointment", once again one more loop of figuring that out and on my 2nd try, I got an APPOINTMENT!!!!
Moderna Feb 6, then March 6. And in at a convenient Kaiser location. Thought I'd miss the batch. :)

I wanted to get the Moderna vaccine.

However, it appears the stockpiles of additional vaccines promised by Trump were non-existent.

I'm not one of those celebrity seniors who command adulation, media attention and free bubble gum.

We can't all be old and in the way.

I always knew that Trump would shortchange any state with vaccines if that state's Governor stood up to him.

And yeah, I am slowing down. But I still try to help folks. I will not turn to the Dark Side.

Talked to my mom again and she said she's feeling a lot better this evening than she was earlier in the day after getting her first shot of Pfizer yesterday. I just got a slot for Moderna next Friday so guess I'll start reporting back firsthand in a week.

VA sent me an email today cancelling all except already established appointments because they just don't have enough stock. Trump lied his a$$ off about vaccine levels and Biden's team has discovered the truth. I suppose this is why they didn't want a meeting with them before the inauguration.

Yeah, husband and I have appointments for 2nd Moderna shot on Feb 3, and I have to hope that, between now and then, the supply here doesn't go away. :(:mask:

I have an appointment for the first dose on Monday. The scheduling system is totally hosed so I hope 1) the appointment doesn't get cancelled and 2) twenty thousand people didn't get assigned the same time slot. :p

Mass Gov Baker just announced they're accelerating vaccines for healthcare workers making all worker types eligible now. As a non-Covid patient facing worker I was going to have to wait till end of Feb-beginning of March but now I just signed up to get my first shot next Tuesday :). According to the sign up sheet I'll be getting the Moderna vaccine.

Mother F!!! I got a follow up email and the clinic I signed up for is only for the residents of Worcester and 5 other towns immediately surrounding. My town is nearby but not one of those listed so I had to cancel my appointment. I just went to the state website again and now 2 days later NOTHING is available. All the smaller clinics are booked till the middle of March and the mass vaccination site at Gillette stadium is booked thru the end of January and hasn't released their February appointments yet. 2 days ago they had a slew of slots for next week!

I guess I'll be checking everyday but now it looks like instead of getting my vaccine earlier than I thought it could well end up being later.

For the second dose, I definitely recommend taking the following day off. The arm pain was worse than the first dose or any flu shot I've received. I had fairly significant body aches, fatigue, and a mild headache that made me feel really run-down. I was about 90% back to normal after about 48 hours.

Ibuprofen helped to cut the edge, if I had to do it again, I would have taken 400 mg before going to bed on the day of receiving the shot.

Interesting. My sister and some of my colleagues had similar reactions, but I and two of the colleagues in my office had, aside from some mild arm soreness, no adverse reactions after our second dose over a week ago.

Immune systems are funny things, perhaps. Would be interested to know which of us previously had Covid and remained asymptomatic, if any of us.

Some arm pain on day 2 of shot 1, nothing much worse than a overzealous punch to the arm or overdone workout imo. No other effects to report.

Looks like no way Jose in my state. We're 47th on the list of getting/having enough vaccines for any tier. I can understand the arm pain when I see people getting shots and that needle looks like it really goes in deep, in one side and comes out the other almost. Now that's one hell of a deep injection. What do they need to do, inject it into the bone? OUCH!

Got home a bit ago from taking wife to neighboring county for her first dose. It was sponsored(?) by the hospital system in that area. I just sat in the car, but I was impressed watching the flow and how they were handling it.

And she has her second appointment, actually got it when she made the first.

And here I am 8 days till my next dose is due without an appointment, and I have worn out their email and phone lines trying to get a fucking appointment. I am going to show up on 2/1, the date on my card, and when asked if I have an appointment I am going to show them the date on my immunization card, and tell them I will be very happy to call the local TV station to have them come film you turning me away... and I will be recording on my phone also.

Nah to young and to healthy for that shit. Bottom of the list is where I'm at. Probably sometime this fall/winter before I'm even considered.
Remember we have an adult in the White House now, instead of a toddler playing with his blocks and throwing food.

Wife got #1 on Sunday. Said she was sleepier than normal last night and went to bed earlier than normal. Feels find, arm not even sore.

I'm at dose #1 + 14 days, and I still don't have/can't get an appointment for #2.

Yep, the scheduling system here is back to broken. It took me twenty four hours of cussing to get the first appointment. At that time, it was showing all slots as available until you clicked on one and then it said that the slot was full (except it wasn't really so for the first two days, the shot clinic only had a tenth the number of victims they expected). Now it either gives the "busy - come back later" screen (which is okay) or shows that there are no available appointment slots ever again. I got the Moderna vaccine so I have a month to get the second appointment so I'm not worried yet.

Since you got Moderna you got 28 days... I would not wait past next week to become very proactive in getting dose #2 scheduled, if your county or provider is as FUBAR as I am dealing with. Find others, perhaps social media, or Nextdoor and keep in touch with them.
Friend who is being the driving force for her mothers vaccines, has actually found her mother got a voice mail with second dose appointment info.
A guy I'm communicating with through Nextdoor is even more proactive than I have been. Actually got someone on the phone today that seemed surprised he had not been called with an appointment. He is planning an "in person" visit to the health department.
Life in the 3rd world country of Trumps doing.

I would be eligible for stage B or whatever it is because of my underlying health issues, but I'm in no hurry to scramble to get it done. I'm not planning on travel and don't consider myself a "priority" need since I rarely leave the house.
I'll wait until things have settled a bit and supply isn't so scarce. I know there are healthcare and frontline workers that are refusing to get vaccinated but there are still others that are waiting and not gotten theirs yet.

I was able to schedule the 2nd dose of Moderna for day 29 as there were no slots available prior to that. I hope I don't get pregnant for missing by one day.

It's an intramuscular injection. The shot goes into your Deltoid muscle. The needle length looks fine for men. Seems, to me, too long for thin women - but obviously is fine.
I need to give myself an IM injection into one of my quads for severe migraines. I don't have the huge quads I had when I used to cycle, yet I can just punch that injection in without any problem.
