CVS came through on the new bivalent shot so I'm happy.
I'm off to CVS in the morning for mine. I co-scheduled for the flu shot. Don't know if I have to pay (they will charge my HMO for the Moderna booster). If I have to pay for the flu shot I'm going to demure on that shot because I have an appt at my HMO in a week and can get the flu shot there for free.

I got both at CVS during the same visit last night, and I didn't have to pay anything. Although, the CVS that I visited only had Pfizer; I would've preferred to stay with all Moderna, but it's not that big of a deal.

Got my Moderna bivalent booster 4 hours ago. 3 hours ago did my 10 mile quad skate with heart rate monitor on. So far so good. Passed on the senior flu shot, CVS wanted $94! 😳 I'll get it free at Kaiser next week while I'm there.😉

Medicare not cover the flu shot? I've never paid for a flu shot... ever, and I get the old fart dose for many years now.

Just got mine during my annual physical. It is already hurting. I thought my right arm was going to hurt first because that's where I got my 3rd and thankfully final Shingrix shot in that arm, and the last time it was that shot that really hurt. Not planning on much tomorrow.

I really like the imbedded microchips. So far, I have gained the ability to see through thin walls and have free 5G without needing to pay for a cell phone plan.

I hacked my Moderna imbedded microchip into a hand phone. BTW, that’s me in the pic.

Got a booster last night and a flu shot. Earlier today I was okay, but this afternoon have felt pretty bleh overall.

Yeah after getting the shot Wednesday evening I had a bit of the chills yesterday and a kind of ugly headache so popped a couple of aspirin and crawled back in bed. Feel fine today though. Though my last booster was September last year (wasn't eligible for the second booster) so that may have made my reaction worse than when I had gotten my second and third shots which we closer together with previous shots.

My wife, M-I-L and I all got the Moderna bivalent booster shot today.

Have an annual doctor's appointment Friday. Kaiser notified me that they've added the new booster to my list of things to get done. Timing.
EDIT: They also added the 3rd Shingrix shot. They much more painful.

What's up with the 3rd Shingrix shot? I only got two and nobody said anything about getting a 3rd. Please explain.

Gosh, I don't know. I just took her word for it at CVS. I asked if I was out of pocket and she said 94 bucks for the senior flu shot! She said CVS has a deal with my HMO Kaiser Permanente and that would work but it doesn't kick in until October, meantime I'd have to pay myself. No brainer, I've got an appt at Kaiser in 7 days, will just walk over, get in line for my free flu shot after the appt, senior dose.

Maybe it was only the second Shingrix. I had whatever they called the first shingles vaccine and it turned out not to be that good, I think.
Anyway, I'm wiped out this morning more than any of the previous boosters. Yuk.

I'm now up an hour, it's 22 hours since Moderna bivalent booster. Sore arm, that's it so far. No fever yet. Previous Moderna shots (4), no serious issues. Initial shot, my arm was more sore than this time. Last time ran a fever up to ~100 for a few hours but was never uncomfortable. Me and Moderna get along fine so far.

As far as shingles, I came down with it almost 30 years ago. It was nasty. No medical, a few trips to the pharmacy in search of ointments or whatever to relieve the painful itchy rash. I don't think they had vaccines for it yet. Now I have medical and I've had one or two shingles vaccine shots, I suppose to help prevent another outbreak.

I got the bivalent booster + influenza on Thursday evening. Felt fine the next morning, but that quickly devolved to feeling like crap in the afternoon and evening. Today, I feel great though beyond some residual soreness at the injection site.

I'm the same with just a sore arm at the injection site as the only side effect of the bivalent shot. We're at 48+ hours now and it's just barely sore which is a small price to pay versus getting nuked by COVID.

6 hours post Pfizer bivariant and flu shot, in the same arm*. Arm is not even tender to the touch.

Opted for both in my right arm because I sleep n my left side, and that has caused discomfort when I got a Pfizer in the left arm.

My pharmacy is a grocery store branded pharmacy, but based on refill email reminders I've received, it appears that CVS is the actual provider behind the grocery chain name.

Made appointment online for both COVID booster, and flu shot. When checking in, he said my Rx plan covered the COVID vaccine, but he needed my red, white, and blue Medicare card to cover the flu shot. $0.00 and I got 200 gas points (good for 10¢/gallon discount) at their gas pumps.

Wife got both her COVID and flu, and didn't have to provide any insurance card. She uses Humana mail in pharmacy for her Rx, but has used CVS at some point in the past, so apparently the system picked up her insurance through that. Her cost $0.00, plus got another 200 gas points. She has a Humana medicare advantage plan.

Wait until you get a shot giver that puts it in like she's whaling. 😱 😛

For those getting the new booster that covers the variants, is it kicking your ass the next day?
Moderna has beat me down pretty good the next day on all but the first shot. Both boosters had me sleep most of the next day away.

So far this is pretty mild like my other 4 Moderna covid shots. Arm got sore starting maybe 12 hours in, is a lot less sore now, 30 hours in. Haven't had the fever I had last time. Felt queasy for maybe an hour around 4 hours ago. Was even thinking of skating my 10 miler today but decided against it. Didn't sleep great last night, took a nap this afternoon. Am close to "normal" now and figure by tomorrow pretty OK.

The Pfizer bivalent made me feel kind of crappy the next day. Headache all day, chills in the morning, so took some aspirin, took the day off, and climbed back in bed. Though it had been almost a year since I got my previous booster since I wasn't eligible for the second booster. So I suspect that might have had something to do with it being worse than my second and third shot. Though I did also catch one of the original omicron strains in January 2022.

First shot of Pfizer-BioNTech kicked my ass starting ~8 hours after getting it and into the next day and this reaction was definitely less than that one. Still felt ok enough to go out to the grocery store and grab some fast food this time, though my headache was telling me to go back into bed. Whereas after the first shot I felt so crappy I microwaved dinner.

I had a headache for maybe 30 seconds yesterday, that's it. I've been lucky. 5 shots, all mild reactions. Every time I did my best to get it ASAP. In fact the first was before the official start of the program, it was a couple days before so they could get the setup rolling, it was a drive through in a giant parking lot.
