Have you ever used bluetooth on your laptop?

Just wondering if anyone here has ever used bluetooth on his laptop (or is using it all the time). The only application I see is to transfer stuff between two laptops or between a laptopt and a cellphone. But since cellphone providers in US intentionally limit bluetooth capabilities to the most basic (so that you'd have to pay them for every single transfer), the advantage of having bluetooth in your laptop is practically nonexistent...

ya, the only application I can think of is laptop to cell phone (uploading pics or music) and I think USB cable transfer would be much faster and easier. and so the same apply to "laptop to laptop."

i believe the ulimate goal is to have bluetooth ready peripherals, like printers, so that no wires are needed in order to connect the devices.

Maybe if I had a bluetooth keyboard/mouse I'd use it, but I don't have a cellphone with bluetooth and if I wanted to give something to someone nearby, I'd just throw it on a USB key or send it over AIM.

I have a VOIP phone that uses it. I'll be getting a new cellphone too, so it'll be interesting to see which phone has what capablities.

It's useful when you don't have any cables around (like for comp-to-cell transfer)

I use an Apple Mighty Mouse bluetooth mouse. It's great. It makes my life very easy when I am at a client.

I have also synced pictures and ringtones to my wife's old cell phone (RAZR). It doesn't like my T-Mobile Dash.
