Have you ever SERIOUSLY considered suicide?

I have.

I am Bi-Polar. My dips into severe clinical depression used to be monthly for a majority of my life, until I finally got it under control with medication. During both my High and Low points of the cycle, I entertained and planned how I would kill myself. What lack of worth I had for myself, thankfully, didnt effect the love I have for my family. I just couldnt bring myself to do an act that would so catastrophically ruin my families life.

My love for animals prevented me from killing myself also, particularly dogs. Dogs represent everything good about friendship and life. Unconditional love and friendship are only possible with animals.

CliffNotes: If it wasnt for family and animals, I would have killed myself long ago.

Thought about if for a while, reconsidered because I could always do it tomorrow if I wanted to.

Here's a cheerfull thought, everything you do in life that isnt exactly perfect/right/healthy, is a form of suicide.

Yeah, I went through a point in my life where I felt very alone and worthless. And it got worse when one day I was almost run over by a truck, it swerved and crashed into a building 5 feet from me, I got more depressed because I realized that if I died no one would have noticed. And sad to say suicide crossed my mind a lot since then, but then one day I just opened up to one of my friends and talked to them and it's helped me ever since. Its hard to open up to someone and tell them how fvcked up in the head you've become but I think its apart of the process to get yourself straight again.

not since I was a freshman in high school.

I had bad emotional problems between the ages of, like, 11 through 15. but I got over it.

Never seriously considered it, nor do I think I will. Something else will claim me first. I seem to be a walking statistical oddity.

I've thought about it, certainly. I haven't tried though, as I try to make sure anything I try to do is successful, and it usually is ;) I think most people do at some point or another.

heh thanks me too. it was after i broke up with my then gf, then went to india for the entire summer
i went from seeing her almost every day to not talking at all for 3 months. it had an effect on me.

anyway, suicide is stupid. you can always think of something to live for.

How does one legitimately try to commit suicide, fail, and still remain relatively functional as a human being. As in how are some of you still able to post? I am not familiar with the specifics of your attempts, but if it was me, I would have been %100 sure of success. There must have been some part of you, conscious or unconscious, that wasnt ready for the finality.
