Nice. In a more politically correct, sensitive to the needs of women, minorities and the elderly, that comment would be considered highly offensive and would get you a vacation if not a ban.

But here in "Misogynist Heaven" it's right on the money!:D

Rock on with your bad-self. :)

In no particular order:

Saved my son's life when he was five. He ran out into the street in front of his house and there was some kid in a Ricemobile doing 50mph down a residential street. I ran out and just swiped him up and got him out of the way. Unfortunately, I did bruise his ribs from the force of the impact, but it was a lot better than him getting hit.

Been a "first responder" at multiple motorcycle accidents. Most of them with the group I was riding with...we ride ah...a bit fast. I don't do that anymore. In the future, I'll take it to the track. Hitting barbed wire at 90mph does ugly things to the human body. :disgust:

Don't know how many, even saved a few patients from the residents, ER nurse for 7 years.

Did you get teased for being a nurse? ;)

Used to, now I'm older & make some serious $ & everyone I work with knows I have a hot wife:D

Plus everyone owes me favors for saving their asses over & over & over. If my parents or I had a clue I would have gone to medical school, but wtf...:music: life goes on;)

Actually, my friend and I were walking along the beach back to our cars after an evening surf session a couple years ago and we heard a little girl screaming for help. Her younger sister (this girl had to be 5 or 6 years old) was in over her head and being pulled out into breaking surf. We immediately bolted into the water and paddled out to rescue her. Her sister was in shallow water but couldn't get to the other girl. If we hadn't been there this poor girl probably would have been in big trouble. We may have saved her life. Waves were easily shoulder to head high that day.

Their dumbass'd father was out in the water a few hundred feet away (surfing) and probably never even knew what happened.

5 times, all from the water, 3 as a professional lifeguard, 2 for being in the right place at the right time. most of those were before the age of 21.

Does being a doctor > nurse? Not only in terms of $, but also in job satisfaction

Several of us passers-by frantically pulled and dug and tried every sane thing we could think of to get him out, but he died. When the fire department arrived, it took six strong men to pull his body out. I relate this story because it has affected me ever since. We were so sure we would pull him out in time and resuscitate him, and then we failed and lost him. I know it was not my fault we lost him, but it still is heart rending and I expect I'll feel that way forever. I would still try to help anyone in need.

sad but i gutta ask, how the hell did the guy end up head first in 4 feet of snow? and where did this happen?

Saved a 2 year old from drowning about 4 years ago, I was probably 13 at the time. No one else saw him go under beause the pond was pretty dark. He was gone if I hadn't been on my way over to him just before he started struggling.
