Have you ever purchased blank dual layer DVD media?

I haven't bothered (even though I have a DL burner) because they're just too damn expensive. Still well over $1/disc, last I checked. 4.4GB single layer DVD's will work just fine for me...

is the process for burning with dual layer discs the same as using dvd-r? (just pop in and burn or do you have to change a setting?)

picked up a couple 15 disk spindles the other day

They seem heavier than a normal disk.

When you can buy media that writes at 16x for $.23 each, how could you ever justify spending 6-30x as much for something that holds only twice as much... it just doesn't make sense

I got these today, Verbatim 20-Pack 8x DVD+R Dual Layer @ Best Buy $39.99 they are "MKM 001" media, they are widely rated good to very good with wide compatibility.

I remember when the early adopters around here were coughing up a couple hundred bucks for the wondrous Yamaha 8X SCSI CD burners. My, we sure have gotten frugal over the years! :laugh:

i am one of them... i spent like 2 hundred or something on a 8X SCSI CD-R recordable (only) burner... i am still calling myself stupid for that.
