have you ever met someone online for a date?

i'm not talking about an ATOT meet or a LAN party get together full of geeks. more specificly someone you've chatted with for a while and then decided to meet up in person for a date or something.. if so, how did you find him/her? discuss..

I did once and only once.

She was hot. Better looking then the pic I had of her anyway.

Went to her house and hung out in her room. Met her parents also lol. It was cool as I'm polite and her father offered to drive me home. I decline to spend some more time with her etc.

She was talkative and fun to be with but I'm an easy going guy. So it was cool.

Nothing much more came about with us too. Wasn't a 'date' just that we met and chilled. She was suppose to come see me one week but the trains are funky from her place on a Sunday so I saw her the next week.

I met another girl through friends later and we have been together for nearly 3yrs.

Sad truth is, the dating scene off line isn't much better these days.

I have indeed. I met him online by chance..talked for two weeks and decided to meet in person. He was in NY, I was in Boston. He came to meet me one Monday and it was perfect. I went to see him the next week....again perfect. He continued to travel to see me every week on his day off.

Long story short, we are happily married now and living in Boston. We were really lucky, because all online meetings don't usually work out so well.:heart:

I've gone on dates with two people I met on dating sites. One was just a complete waste of time.

The other wasn't bad. We dated on and off for a year.

Not really any worse/better than meeting people in person. You still have to deal with all of the lying, manipulations, and head games.

i have met one guy from online. i wouldn't call it a date. it was someone i had chatted with on a messageboard/phone for about 3yrs.
it was cool, and a bit surreal. strange to want to call him by his username.

i'd do it again, but not on a whim.

i've met a few guys like that. after 4 years of knowing someone online, i met him at an airport. it was nice, nothing special. i also met a close friend that way -- he ended up attending the same college as me (at my nudging) and we continue to be in touch. i think i met him when he was 14 or so (we met in person when he was 17); he's 23 now. :shocked:

where do you people meet these people online. I dont know many people that have done this. My one friend that did meet someone from offline was from a random IM he got from her while in highschool. They dated for like 3 years..Ugh was that amistake

I haven't. But I was disgusted when I found out after my ex-girlfriend broke up, that she met this guy online when she was like 15 and had sex with him so he would buy her sh!t. I was pissed. I immediately got myself checked for HIV.

i love the people that talk about the 'one' online date they met were stalkers, ugly, etc.

I met a lot of chicks on and offline...when I am single I use it to my advantage.

I never meet too many people quickly, there are a lot of wounded losers out there.

From online I have met every combination of chick. However, if you just want to get laid, online is where it's at. I never used it like that...if I want sex I'd rather just go to a bar and see what I am getting right up front...but there were two chicks friends of mine that would sort of advertize in chat rooms (aol) and in their match.com profiles.

Saying they had sex with 10 different guys a month would not be exaggrating....slut, hoe, whatever, one of the two was freaking hot, the other decent.
