Have you ever made your own pizza?

Whoops, I voted yes, but I've really only done the toppings on one of those Boboli things.

I've bought pizza sauce in a can, bought pizza dough mix in a bag, and bought the toppings too.

Making pizza dough and sauce from scratch would be feasable, but I doubt it's worth the trouble or the extra buck or two. Pizza sauce is only 79 cents at most stores around here...it would cost me $1.50 or so to make it myself and it'd be more trouble. 😉

But you can make your 100% own flavor 🙂

Yeah, but it's probably saltier than you like.

lol..

the dough takes too long if done by yourself..

i used the dough boy pizza crust before.. it was okay.. its fun but not worth the savings..

Frend brea pizza all the time. Normal pizza once or twice. You can just buy the dough packets and sauce and such. It's quite easy.

The point of making your own sause is not because it's cheaper (though it is if you take into consideration the fact that you make a large volume of it). The reason you do it is because it tastes better. And to try to prove in some small way that you are independent from the velvet cage of instant meals that surrounds us all.

i have an amazing recipe for meatballs and gravy (sauce).... real deal my grandpa's recipe - if ya want that hit me up, if anyone has a good dough recipe or pizza sauce recipe, let me know!

I need a good recipe for pizza dough. Does anyone have one?
Hit up FoodTV.com and search recipes for "pizza pizzas" - that has Alton Brown's recipe for pizza dough.

The key is high-gluten flour (bread machine flour). Even with regular bread flour, I couldn't work the dough as well.

Pizza dough is VERY easy - hardest part is kneeding, if you have a bread machine or stand mixer with a dough hook, that's not a problem at all.

I wouldn't attempt to hand-kneed pizza dough. It'd take forever.
