I brought 2 monitor fans from 3dcool for my monitor, but these new fans vibrate too much, I have to always move it around my monitor to get rid of the vibration. These were once made by just cooler but now made by HP, and it stinks. I want to use an antec case fan or vantec stealth fan and just put it over my monitor, but I can't find any molex connect wire long enough to power a case fan on monitor. I don't like the idea of having to pay $15+ for these cheap HP monitor fans which are really just generic case fans encased. anyone have instructions or know any place that sell long power cords with molex connectors?

Monitor fan? Are you kidding me? I haven't even ever heard of a monitor fan. If heat is that much of a problem just keep a small air conditioner in the room with it. What kind of monitor is that?

I put the heat from my monitor to work.

Every month or so I'll hand wash my favorite hat, I wear it like ALL THE TIME so it can get nasty. Then i let it air dry for about an hour (just so it's not dripping wet) then I place the hat over the vents on the top of my monitor. In the morning it's as dry as can be.

I think I read that many monitors have built in HEATERS so that they can operate optimally!

depending on how far the fans are, it may be causing some interference (and possibly dmage) to the monitors picture tube due to the magnetic characteristics of the fans motors.

just my 0.02 :)

Under normal operationg conditions monitors do not require fans. Yes the electron gun does have a heater to heat the cathode.
