Have you ever killed someone?

No, but my dad did. He was taking some shore leave on an island in the Pacific in 1946. He was in the 1st Cav, and they had to bring their guns with them to the beach (just incase).

It turns out that on an island right next to theirs, there were some Japanese troops. I guess that they either didn't know that the war was over, or didn't care, but they got into their jeep and started shooting at my dad and the other troops. My dad took a few shots, and eventually hit the gas tank (or something explosive anyway).

He was later a guard for the Emperor of Japan during US occupation. A guy charged the gate in a car, but my dad didn't shoot him, just subdued him and took him in.

He was told that if that ever happened again, and he *didn't* kill the guy, he'd be in big trouble.

Umm... so 10% of Anandtech OT'ers have killed someone. Riiiight... my guess is that half of us don't leave our computer after 7:00pm after getting home from school or work, where we've been sitting in front of a computer anyway. WHEN ARE WE GOING TO HAVE THE TIME TO KILL SOMEONE?!

😉

So my "Do you pick your nose?" poll gets locked and gets me a warning, but this one is fine?!?! WTF? There is no justice!

Yeah, I'm assuming so, too. We'll find out soon...

Yes.. I couldnt take take them anymore. It was last summer, I was sitting outside trying to enjoy the nice warm and quiet evening but they just wouldnt leave me alone. they would always be around bugging me :| I talked to some "professionals" but they were busy and couldnt help me.. A $1.50 can of raid seemed to solve the problem.
