Have you ever had FedEx drop stuff off at your neighbor's house?

I ordered a Dell monitor for a friend and since FedEx conveniently delivers at noon, I didn't get it on Friday. They left a note on the door, and usually they try again at 7pm or so. They didn't, and today I got a note on my door saying they delivered it to my neighbor's house (I didn't hear the guy knock).

Is that normal? I'd really rather them ship my stuff back to Dell than just drop it off at a neighbor's house. I think on Monday I'm going to call and chew someone's ass. UPS just leaves the stuff under the carport.

I have no idea when/if I will get my monitor.

Edit: Okay, the neighbor they gave it to came and brought it over. Still disagree with the policy.
 
I've had it happen before, but not in years. USPS, FedEx, and UPS all leave stuff here unless signature is required, in which case they leave a notice and try back next day.

Yeah, it has boxes for three attempts. They tried twice and then dropped it off at the neighbor's.

I am... displeased with FedEx.
 
Yes. The neighbor denied getting it till I showed him the note from FedEx. Then he looked and "found" it.

Happens here all the time, but my neighbor and I have set this up with our regular FedEx driver. If I'm not home, he leaves my stuff at my neighbor's, if the neighbor's not home, the FedEx guy leaves his stuff with me...and it's always noted on the delivery notice where it was left, and when required, signed for.

In the 6 or 7 years we've had this arrangement, we've only had one or two problems...and it was with a different driver, not our regular driver.

No, but UPS delivers my neighbor's stuff to my house all the time. My mailbox doesn't have any numbers on it, but his does.
