<< Just put me to sleep and my ass is theirs! >>

Those are words you will never hear come out of my mouth. 🙂

Get one no later than the age of 35 and repeat every 5 years.

Though prostate cancer is somewhat rare for men under 60, I knew someone who died of it at the age of 44.

He never got it checked till it was too late.

Anyone refusing to take the test because they don't want a doctor's finger there, or afraid of a tiny bit of discomfort is a selfish fool. :| If they catch anything early enough, you might not lose any of the functions you value so highly.

Anyone who thinks life is no longer worth living because you don't have perfect bladder control has really shallow and/or skewed view of what's important in life. 🙁

There are two things I fear. One is nuclear war. The other is any procedure related to my rectum and/or genitalia.

"Don't Touch This"

Well it starts with one, then two, then three, then the whole fist. Did you see roadtrip?

Have ur wife/gf try it sometime, you might like it.

I'm 24 and just had one because of some blood in urine...lemme tell you, avoid it as long as possible!!!!

not an experience to brag about....unless you like that sort of thing 😉 😛

funny, it was my doctor who expressed the views I posted
it was his view that many doctors do the surgery when they shouldn't
(most likely to pad their own pockets)

there's a lot to be said for quality of life

which would make a good topic for a thread

<< Had it done a couple months ago. Uncomfortable, but not painful.
I have a female doctor and I didn't get an erection....does that mean I'm gay? 🙂
>>

Oh dear Lord. Having it done period would be embarassing enough. But to have a female doctor do it...

I was shy when I just had to take off my shirts for my ultrasound. 😱

Actually Fish, according to that show on The Learning Channel, The Operation, you may not have to live like that.

If you get a skilled doc, they can take it out, and you can live pretty much as before. No loss of bladder control, still get it up, etc.

It won't be bad unless the Doc comes in with a couple of interns and asks if they can have a go too. Then you'll be thinking, like well, they're going to think I'm an selfish if I refuse so you say, "sure". Triple the fun.

Then a couple of years ago I had to get an ultrasound of my prostate. Like them using a plastic spoon and moving it around for 15 min.

BTW why is it called a Digital Prostate Exam, if they aren't using a computer(hehehehehe)

LOL! In fact, LOL @ this whole thread. It's almost as funny as the "racing stripes" thread.

PH
😀

Wimps! The lot of you! Buck up and get an exam - and look away from the needle if you're afraid of it. Yeesh.... Funny how the guys who act all big and macho can't be "a man" when it comes to the life-threatening important stuff. :Q

"Very funny Space Moose... now please release my hand!" ->😀 <-

It's not that big of a deal. It's not painful -- slightly uncomfortable but only lasts a few seconds.

There is much more difficult stuff... Like Sluggo said, you may need a COLONOSCOPY someday.

Or, something I had to consider... a CYSTOSCOPY

A cystoscope is a tube with lenses that goes into your urethra (the hole through which you urinate), and ends up in the bladder, so the urologist can look for problems. The tube is about as thick as a pencil. more info

I had an ultrasound on my little buddies once, by a hot looking technician no less. That was interesting... especially since my concerned wife was observing.

I have had a LEEP done, when they go inside and burn off part of your cervix. Mine was for a precancerous condition, and it seems to be gone now. So don't expect me to pity you men cause you have a finger in your hiney, try being a woman, and going through all that stuff from 16-18 on. 😉
