When I was younger my temper would get the best of me and I beat the sh1t out of the keyboard or something like that. These days I dont even let it bother me, I guess Im just not as wrapped up in games as I use to be.

Now that's just god damned funny :D Almost sig worthy even!

But yeah, i can relate to the OP to an extent. For wahtever reason I tend to under react to major things and over react to minor things, so every once in a while when i was growing up I'd toss a controller or punch a wall or something. Fortunately my eventual emergence into adulthood saw an overpowering sense of laziness that overrides any compulsion to commit myself to anything for a length or time that might instigate such an active response.

EDIT: I sux0rz at teh quotes

EDIT 2: Credit given where credit's due. heh

Hey, don't blame me for jw0ollard anger issues, or his double posting issues for that matter :p.

FWIW, I don't have anger management issues so far as I'm concerned, the laptop stuff is because it was issues by my university and they force us to WAAAAY overpay for it, but also have an absurd waranty, so I figure I'll get my moneys worth. Actually probably 10% of the graduating senior engineering class brakes their laptop on PURPOSE to get a completely new laptop right before the warranty expires. Kinda funny seeing people comming in being like "my computer *accidentally* fell off the 12 story parking garage" and such.

yes a few things, always cheap stuff tho or stuff that can be fixed.
most notable a computer chair that I picked up, swung over my head, and slammed the base (with wheels) into the floor.
couple of the wheel legs shattered.

we lost a good chair that day... you'll never be forgotten buddy...

I try not to break important/expensive things, but well..... you know. One of the best things to break if you're angry is legos. Throw them against a wall and they explode with a nice satisfying crunch. (plus you can always put it back together). Even when you're not angry, legos are fun to break. I made this huge robot with them, had pneumatic arms, an elevator, 2 motors in each legs, all sorts of fun stuff. It was about 2.5 feet high. I kept it together for about 2 years, then I pushed it down the staircase. Fun stuff.

Fighting games still piss me off though, because the AI doing things that require a reaction time of microseconds is the only way to ramp up the difficulty. I don't play those.
At some point I realized that videogames should be to entertain, and to relieve stress, not cause it. With that in mind, games just got a lot better. I guess I stopped investing so much emotion in them.

I do hear you though with the AI problem. It seems to be the case in a lot of games - the enemy doesn't get much smarter, it just gets more powerful. Either it'll react faster, or else the enemy will just get higher hitpoints, or, in the case of strategy games like Homeworld, they will be able to build ships much more quickly. It's a brute-force solution to the problem that computers just aren't especially intelligent. Yet.

And so began the robots' hatred of humans. The great war followed soon after, wherein all humans were put to death by falling down stairs.
Thanks for dooming humanity.
