A friend of mine has mentioned taking me to a shooting range and showing me how to fire a gun. I have never even held one.

Never fired a gun? Please take "--------> I AM A GUY <--------" out of your sig 🙂

Yeah, and then watch everyone think he is a girl when he talks about his boyfriend. No, I think that's a bad idea.

You should definitely go, but go with someone that has more exp.

He has experience. He actually carries a gun with him most of the time. He shoves it down the front of his pants, like in the movies. Scares me. But he does have a license.

Yes, quite a few. From various rifles and shotguns as a child to various handguns as a teenager and adult (including a 454 Casull.. ouch). Recently, I've shot my buddy's new Glock 19.

Here's hoping he's wearing Thunderwear. Otherwise, I wouldn't call this guy an expert.

I've shot BB guns (of course), a 22 rifle, and a handgun (9mm?). Once I get some money I want to get at least a handgun, probably a couple other guns down the road.

Why do you call yourself pontifex if you don't build bridges?

how do you know i don't build bridges?
besides, thats not where i got my name from.

I think that everyone in America who has any opinion - no matter what it is - on gun ownership should fire a handgun at least once. So much of what people think they know about guns is wrong.

In fact, I think anyone who writes a TV or Hollywood script featuring gunplay, or reports on gun-related crimes for news outlets should be required to put at least 50 rounds through every firearm they intend to write about.

It has a holster on it.
I would still not shove a gun in the front of my pants.

Can you rent guns and buy ammo at most target ranges, or so you have to bring you own? I haven't fired a gun since I was a wee tyke, but I would kinda like to shoot of a few rounds once in a while.

to answer the op, i've used many guns. own 1 pistol currently. hopefully i'll have another one soon and a rifle.

Also, he seems to be grabbing his handle from one of the best series of novels, evar! 🙂

I spent a majority of time at summer camp at the riflery range, and loved it. However, in high school, I grew up around a bunch of idiots that were nowhere near responsible enough to own the guns they had... So now I am very conflicted on my attitude towards gun control.

I've never owned a gun, but in college I took an ROTC course and unassembled and reassembled a pistol and m16.... 🙂 I could have fired them, and an RPG, if I wanted to get up a 4:30AM on a Saturday and head out to the base, but I stayed up too late partying the night before... 🙁
