Turthfully, i am not a religious person, but i am very spiritual and believe in God. There have been too many times to mention when i know that she/he/it helped me along. It was as though i was not in control and that was ok, and although i did not know the outcome, i was not afraid of the step i was taking... don't make fun ;)

fvcking pointless flamewars/crap that go on in threads such as these.

Or at least rename politics and news to politics and religion.

I had a couple of orgasms with this one girl that were religious experiences.

Funny, quite a few serial killers say that as well. I guess the Lord works in mysterious ways, sometimes w/ a rusty machete.

No - because there is no such thing.

I saw someone like you on some exorcism movie. That character was one of the first to go.

Were they trying to excorcise the gay out of him?

It's amazing how powerful the mind works to create a feeling of contentment.

there comes a point where you know it's bigger then that.

but you appear to be missing something...called faith.

It's amazing how the mind generates the emotion of faith to compensate for what it cannot predict or find a solution to.

 faith is not an emotion. it's a belief.

Before you start bashing religion, at least try to get your facts straight.

Faith is nothing but another chemical reaction within the brain. So is love. As well as sadness ect.

I believe religions would swiftly cease to exist if children were not allowed to be indoctrinated from birth by their parents. Instead, if they were given a full science-based education (we are in 2006 afterall) and then at the age of 16 or 18 allowed to be introduced to a religion, then make their own choice, it'd be just.

Similar to voting, would it be ok for parents to force a particular party onto their children or should it be the child's choice? Surely they should be allowed to learn about the field, and then to make a decision as to which route to take?

Indoctrinating children in my eyes is a truly sick practice and should be outlawed ASAP. Religion is so wrong on so many levels.

As for wishy washy feelings of god touching you.... what a load of crap. When you're walking senior citizens, that's a feeling of well being for having done soemthing charitable: nothing to do with god there. Last car you bought: a mix of excitement and self satisfaction at having made a good choice. I get these same feelings as you, but I fundimentally don't believe in god.
