Have you ever completely run out of gas?

I've only seen my "fill up" indicator three times with the car I currently have - so I've never ran out - one of my gas nazi buddies fills up his truck every time he gets close to a half tank. I don't know if he thinks he's gonna get stranded somewhere, but I guess I don't have to worry about it when he's driving! Filling his 1/2 tank costs as much as my FULL tank though

LOL that happened to me this summer. RIGHT WHEN i pulled up to the pump the car died, it couldn't have been more perfect. it was a PITA getting it started though.

Only once, and I meant to. I wanted to guage how many miles on average I had left after the low fuel indicator came on, so I carried a gas container in the trunk and just drove around until it stalled. It ended up being right around 40 miles left.
