Have you ever called in sick because of a hangover?

I mean EVER, not that you normally would. Maybe one night you really over did it and had a massive hangover the next day.

few times...

recently though, i just flex the hours and go in very very late... 1 or 2pm... and make up the missed time some other days of the week.

Yes, maybe only 1 or 2 times in a 7 year span though.

Sometimes you just gotta make it to work, grab a company car and go do some "field work". ie. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzz @ the river.

Wouldn't that make you an alcoholic? I prefer to be just a drunk, who makes it to work on time, that way I'll never have to go to those damn meetings.

My point is, if you like to drink, learn to handle it. If you can't get to work, due to drinking, then choose your career, work, or drink, but you can't use one as an excuse for the other. 😛
Oh, and you posted this in the wrong forum 😉

I would say that's only if it became a pattern. I'm talking one night out where you lost control a bit, not every time you drink. But then some people would take it upon themselves to show up to work no matter what, if the fault for feeling bad is theirs.

No but I should have since I was barfing in the bathroom every 15 minutes. I should have known it was gonna be a bad day at work since I couldnt hold down my breakfast for more than 10 minutes and barfed it up as I was walking to my car.

Actually, I got so drunk once, that I was completely oblivious to what time of day it was, and that I had to be at work. From that point, I chose a job with a later start time. 🙂

yea i have. But that was at a temp job during college summers. I'd call out randomly to go to the beach also. Didnt matter...cuz if i didnt work, I didnt get paid...

Never.

At my last job my assistant manager tried it a few times, and my district manager got fed up and told him to knock it off, or he'd be canned. The assistant was claiming it was 'food poisoning'. I never liked the guy, he eventually knocked up the chick that worked at our store, and she quit/got fired, and he wouldn't take responsability for the kid and kept fooling around with other chicks.

Never had a hangover... never had alcohol... never called in sick for a hangover... having a hangover doesn't mean you're sick... that sounds like lieing to me.

I never called in to work for being hungover, but I went to work severly hung over/throwing up. I got totally wasted the night before, probably upwards of 20oz of liquor. I dont know for sure, but I recall it being 6 shots, and 8 double rum and cokes, and two long island iced teas in ~4-5 hours. Needless to say it was very stupid, more so since it was done on a fairly empty stomach. I went home and passed out. Woke up at 3pm to go to work at four and felt horrible. Got to work, started throwing up, got sent home. Proceeded to have a hangover into the next day. 24hr+ hang over FTL. Being sent home had no consequences, I was made manager a couple months later.

Apparently I didnt learn my lesson though because another time I had 18 shots of patron. And another time about 10oz of patron and 10oz of belvedere.

I havent drunk since the last incident. The smell of alcohol, especially patron, makes me want to throw up now.
