Yeah but I didn't call in and say I was sick, I prefer not feeling well.

well since you pretty much have no idea what you're talking about i'll let this slide... :p
but having a hangover IS like being sick... in fact it can be worse sometimes... not every hangover is really bad and mostly it just means being tired the next day but sometimes you can actually be barfing for a good part of the next day and in no conditions of going to work...

that said yeah i miss every now and then and sometimes i'm just being lazy too

You can't call in sick to the air force so I just went to work drunk. My boss sent me home after I yakked three or four times in the bathroom.

I did one time about 20 years ago when I still partied a lot ... I was a courier & would have had to drive drunk in order to work so I figured it just wasn't worth it.

Yes, and luckily my boss is understanding about it. He says that he's glad that I'm being honest. I've busted my hump around there for the last 6 years and have proven myself worthy. There have been times when I've gone in to work still drunk. In fact, the last time I did, I actually woke up at 9am and I was still AT the bar! I passed out on a couch in the lounge while a buddy of mine was on the next couch. I was good friends with the bar manager and she went to sleep in the back room. But not before I got me some play. :D

No, but I've called in sick so I COULD get one (i.e., had to work night shift one night when the buds were going out to the bars, so I called in sick, then got drunk. so I did it backwards, whatever.)

Last year I had three(!) interns call off "sick" on a Monday. In a typical year, there will be two calloffs out of all 12 interns, so three in one day was unprecedented.

And the next day, they told me they were at a party and were too hungover to come in. So you could probably guess which three interns got no job offer from us after graduation.

Yeah, it's probably going to happen to everyone at least once, but when you are doing an internship, when you can tell me in advance you have a heavy school load next week and need to take next Monday off without any problem, don't party on a Sunday night to the point you can't come in to work.

Twas a time, back in my drinking days when I put away a quart of Crown every night...No excuxes for missing a night. That caused me to call in sick a couple of times. Probably a good thing too, since a drunk or hung-over crane operator is a dangerous thing...I finally got tired of being such a wastoid, and quit drinking all together. After about 5 years of being a tee-totaller, I could have an occasional beer or drink with my meals, but almost NEVER drink enough to get a buzz. (takes all of 2 beers nowdays)
