Have you ever been offered money to do well?

I'm guessing everyone has done exams in school.

How many of you were offered a "bribe" to do well and try and get the best results?

I finished my exams about 4 weeks ago, and just now I've been told I'll be getting a certain amount per result to go towards my new bike. Means I have to have done well to get my bike, except I can't try harder because all my exams have already finished
I wish I had known sooner.

Well, coming from an Asian family, all my funds were based on how well I did at school.

Lucky.. my mom is Chinese and the only money I ever got was $5 a week if my room was cleaned as a kid.. x_x

No and I use that as an excuse as to why I did crappy in grade school. ME <------- IS VIETNAMESE/CHINESE

$10 for an A
$5 for a B

But it also got nasty for bad grades..
10 days grounded for a D
the semester for an F...

No, despite pleas that I would do better if properly motivated by hard cash. So I slacked off out of spite.

i am... all the time. But not only with money but with clothes, etc.
Its really sad though. I am taking a little while off from school and i was talking with my grandma and 2 great-aunts(they are all sisters).
Basically it was they who raised me and they are so upset i am not in school, one of them said that if i didnt go back like...NOW, they would disown me.:disgust:

no, I don't get paid for doing well in school. I don't get paid for anything in fact and I have to pay for my own clothes and anything else I might want (okay, my parents do pay for food at least).

I never got given or asked for money if I did well...I honestly don't see why anybody should be paid for building their own future...but I suppose a small treat for doing well isn't so bad....like say your parents taking you out for a meal....or buying you a little something that you really want....but being given cash....hmmm...

Now, being bribed to do well...that's nuts....but hey....it's money

Nope. My parents and grandparents believed I should get an education not because of them, but because I wanted to.

Never really got rewarded for my hard work in school but nevertheless tryed my hardest anyways and did pretty good. My parents give me cash on a need basis, when i need it i get it...theyre pretty nice about it.
