Never got mugged nor threated as an adult. However, I did get revenge on this kid that kicked me in the balls when I was in 1st grade. All I did was poke fun about his mom and BAM in my balls.

So...when I was in JHS as an 8th grader, I recognized him. He was in 7th grade cause his dumb ass got left back.

I took it upon myself to bring a few of my friends with me and met him.
I asked him if he remembered me. He said nope.
I told him about that incident. He still doesn't know.
I motioned my fingers as to draw him closer then destroyed his manhood with 1 swift swoop.

I still don't think he remembers me, but whatever; eye for an eye, crotch for a crotch :frown:

I got into a fight the other night. I was walking home from a party and as I got to my doorstep, I saw a man walking out of my house with my bike. He said it was his and started walking away. I pounded the sh*t out of the guy for attempting to steal my bike.

since i practice iaido, naturally i take kendo as a side lesson to learn attacks on real person and the main hit point in kendo is neck, head, wrist and the chest area. The shinai will not cause much bodily harm as it is flexible, designed to absord the strike energy.

That day i have my bokken with me which is made of japanese oak and its pretty damn hard. So i struck with full force on one person's wrist which probly broke it and the other person's neck. So the 2 of them were on the ground moaning and I screamed at the third person, they simply retreated and limped away.

mind you, i didn't want to use my bokken at all but since they start to make physical contact with me, i had no choice.

they say knowing martial arts can give you a false sense of security / confidence... where you decide to risk your life in situations that you shouldn't or didn't have to.

I'd still like to learn it to know it, but what's your thoughts on this ?

I took Tae Kwon Do for 7 years and Tang Soo Do for 2 years and American Martial Arts for another year. You know what I learned from it all. Nothing. In a real fight, none of that sh*t means anything. What matters is who's bigger, badder, and who can hit the hardest.

no, learning martial art gives you the confidence, mindset and strength to avoid confrontations and setting disputes in a peaceful manner as you know that you are superior over the other party in terms on physical abilites.

martial art also cultivates the mind the thing clearly which translates to less stupidity

And if they have a 45 with them, the next fashion accessory you will be seen wearing is a toe-tag. Plus a katana, unlike a pistol, is not very concealable. So... do you have a point here, or are you just enjoying stroking your e-cock?

Got in a fight with some guy at a bar. He was all drunk and in the alley beside the back porch of the bar. He got into some verbal argument with some group of jocks and their girls. Beats me whats they were arguing about (I think he started it), but when he started throwing broken glass bottles (from the alley) into the porch, where people had nowhere to move out of the way, and the my friends got hit/cut with shards, I'd had enough.

I jumped the fence, told him to leave and he decided that stepping to me was a better idea. So I shoved him away from me pretty hard. He charged and swung. I blocked and countered laying him out.

As far as martial arts goes (I've done TKD and a couple others)....they have their uses. I think they will help you to keep your head when you do get in those situations. Also, all other things being equal (size, weight, etc...guy was about my size) they'll for sure give you an edge.

I'd like to get back into it, but I don't have the $$$ or time right now. I'd really like to learn some aikido, kenjutsu, kempo and/or MMA.

Raw aggression matters a lot in a "real" fight. But martial arts that teach grappling, like jiu-jitsu, would probably be helpful.

I fought, alot while I was growing up. Where I grew up, you pretty much get in some sort of fight daily. I was in one fight that made me want to never fight again, and since then I haven't. I moved to America, turned to academics, and life has been peachy ever since. Being a badass isn't as cool as you think it is. :)

At the beginning of all of them, I would say they give you a false sense are confidence. Some martial arts are DESIGNED to street fight, some are for show, some for tournments with points and all that jazz. All of them build confedence in one way or another. Each has its strengths and weaknesses.

The problem is that too many people think concreatly when it comes to moves in martial arts. I take Aikido, an almost purely defensive art that is designed to not hurt the attacker. However, in real life, if you are trying to do many of the moves, waiting for that right moment, you will get the crap kicked out of you. Its about applying what you have learned to real life situations, and the concept of Aikido. If someone puts me in a headlock, I don't fight against the headlock, nor do I let him push my head to the ground. I merely drop down at the knees because he wont expect that, tuck my head and push him arm off (using his energy against him)...instant armbar, and now I can break any number of bones or joints.

They will probably not teach that in class, but all those moves I just used were taught in one form or another in my class. However, I probably wont feel confident enough to use them IRL for another year or so because of the speed at which things happen. The moves you do have to come naturally...one doesn't think about using martial arts.

I'm not sure if that answered your question or not, but thats the best I could do with my experience and limited knowledge.

EDIT: Yes, I have been in a fight. Back when I was 14, some guy grabbed my balls on the soccer field. I decided that was enough, and threw him down and started beating him in the face. His dad come out, tackled me and his kid sat up. I then stomped on his chest with my soccer cleat. Apparently, he had trouble breathing for the next week or so. I was ejected from the game...only fight I've been in besides ones that don't involve my brother.
