Have you ever asked God anything?

This is not necessarily a serious thread, but I was kind of curious myself if any ATOTers have asked God for something.

I have asked God for wisdom and guidance, but never proof of his existence or any material goods.

Many times. He's followed through on some of them too, which is all the proof I need. It's all about faith anyway, right?

Come to think of it, it's kinda selfish if we did. We have life, isn't that all we really need? I feel like an ass now. Sorry God :(

So you base your proof on him following through on some things that may or may not have happened anyway? Don't get me wrong I believe a creator exist but not that he is bothered by our problems.

I believe that God will respond to philisophical and spiritual matters, but not earthly, physical matters.

Like self improvement.

I've prayed to him many times.

The important part is, don't pray for material things (ie, God, please give me a bike)

Pray for things that he can help you with. (ie. Strength through a rough time). I've actually prayed to God for rain to stop when I got to school. Many many times it worked. Prayer is a powerful thing, and works wonders, if you have faith in him.

I've also prayed for many other things. One thing I've noticed is that God helps me by giving me ideas.

Just one way that he communicates with me. He works in mysterious ways and possibly not the same way for everyone.

I believe that people who believe such things are likely to improve themselves (1 reason to believe) like prayer and faith may have a benefit in healing. Is it God doing it? I doubt it.

all the time

i ask that when i'm driving somewhere long distance i get there safe, when my mom's flying to india that she get there safe, that everyone in my family remain in a healthy state (i remember when i was a kid i used to feel guilty about just asking that my family remain healthy and safe and so i'd keep expanding the circles that i wanted to remain healthy until i'd pretty much covered the world; then i'd feel bad cause i knew if everyone lived the world would be overpopulated... i was a wierd kid  ). i ask that i pass all my classes and get good grades, that my brother pass all his classes and do well.

what's even wierder is that i dont especially believe in a god. a higher power, maybe but not necessarily convinced that there is absolutely a god. so after i ask god for all these things, i feel quasi-bad cause i don't necessarily think there's a god.

The funny thing is, you never know when God can act through you. Or through someone to help you.

I've seen it happen several times. Makes my faith in him stronger every time.

I believe it is possible however many people are also helped by placebo.

That is true too. But in some cases, I've seen that it could only of been done through the hand of God.

In a nutshell, folks are helped in many ways. Could be through material means, psychological, or spiritual.

All goes case by case basis.
