Have you dealt with a neighbor's loud bass?

The neighbors in question just moved in to the house next door a few months ago. No real problems except for their car's freaking bass which is loud enough to vibrate things on my desk even when it is down the street. Wtf man, I don't need to hear the beats of your music. Not only that but it seems that booming bass is a pre-req for being a visitor to the home.

I don't understand how someone can enjoy that. If you do, please explain it to me.

 
Most likely they don't even know it does that. I had a "decent" car stereo and my gf's parents told me the could hear me coming almost a 1/2 mile away and that was just two 12" woofers. I'd just get to know them and kindly ask if they could keep it down to something reasonable. Unless they are total dicks they'll listen.

Yeah I am going to try talking to them and see what happens. I too had a decent car stereo but this sounds A LOT louder. I see them and friends just working in their trunks every weekend, this is trunk rattling, vibrate everything in my room from 75' loud. Hopefully they aren't dicks though.

You could even take the approach of "hey, if you guys are installing something or testing that's cool I might even be able to help, just not all the time and everytime have it up that loud"

My downstairs neighbors currently listen to the worst rave music with the must obnoxious bass lines. I've talked to them a couple times, and they do turn it down, after I talk to them but the next day it would be back to the same volume. So I've started to be the noisy upstairs neighbor, walking around super hard on the floor, increase the bass on my subs and im looking for an adult sized pogo stick that I can use to make a huge racket with.

I once had upstairs neighbors who would play loud rap at 3am. Sometimes when I asked them to turn it down they would - other times they would turn it up. I finally got tired of having to call the cops/landlord and I noticed they kept the door to the apartment building utility closet unlocked.

So for the next several times they played loud music after midnight I just went over to the utility closet (across the hall from me) and turned off their power.
