I've had a colonoscopy; the procedure was performed under anesthesia (the good stuff). Result was no polyps, no masses or signs of cancer.

The only other attempt at a digital rectal exam was stopped by me; my urologist wanted to check my prostate, I told him your nurse just took a vial of my blood. Get the information you seek from that. I'm not paying your $50 copay just so that you can get your jollies.
