I got pulled over on my bicycle for going 32 down a hill Marked 25... I was given a verbal warning to keep it slow next time...

I was like "OMG, you can't be serious..."

Helped.

In College Park, MD, they captured the guys that held me and the rest of the pizza place up at gun-point 5 days later. It's interesting having someone scream at you with a gun held up to your head.

Both.

However, they tend to prove to be bigger a$$holes than helpers, most of the time. I do hang out with a few cops every now and then, and they are normal, but they are investigators and not your normal street thugs.

mixed bag. i have friends who are in law enforcement and even family members that are in somewhat related fields (probation officers). and i know them to be hard working, honest people.

but then again 2 cops falsely arrested and then beat to death one of my uncle's in a case of mistaken identity some 20 years ago, making him leave behind two young children and a wife. but as nik stated earlier...
For every officer that makes a poor decision or is a bad cop, there are thousands and thousands and thousands that do their job flawlessly every day.
so i cant judge every cop because of that indiscretion.

Yes, he can be. Bicyclists are required to follow all applicable traffic laws if you're travelling on public roads. I don't know about your state, but my state actually requires that bikes with certain wheel sizes be ridden on road ways instead of sidewalks. If your tire diameter is a certain size or larger, you cannot ride on sidewalks legally. You're required to signal when you turn, obey traffic control devices such as signs and lights, and the whole gambit.

I'm aware of that, but I was like, "WTF, don't you have anything better to do than to clock cyclists? Isn't that radar unhealthy!"

I've seen both ends. I've ran into polite police officers that let me go with a warning and I've also run with extremely rude cops that were on a power trip.

LOL - all boys between the ages of 12 and 22 should be banned from the mall. Or just from the public in general. 😛

I'm glad you're not in charge...
If more parent woulds get off their lazy asses once in a while and discipline and educate their children on proper social behaviors, extreme measures like this would not be called for.

You obviously can't blame TV and video game makers for kid's behaviors, but rather the parents who let these things raise their children for them because they don't have the time to do it themselves.

You missed the bold. TWENTY-TWO is not a child. If they harras you, you should take serious action.

Cops are excellent at catching speeders who pose no real threat other than running over the idiot jaywalker (who IMO deserves to be run over) who thinks he can out muscle a car.

In my (and any other) neighbourhood though, I do no more than 30 km/h because of children. Same with a school zone. On a highway though, I gun it.

Bah, I hate cops.

I can only think of one helpful cop I've met and that was in Norwalk, Connecticut....but then again as long as they keep crime down...

As the rest of the speedin 'revenue generating' ticket writin mofo's can suck it...

More often than not they are unnecessarily rude and disrespectful. I am always courteous when dealing with LEOs, and very seldom do they return like treatment.

I was carded for ID and proper hunting license during a hunting trip awhile back. So he calls in and the dispatcher returns with a record of a person with the exact same name as mine and warrant for his arrest. Without checking further if the age and physical features are the same he immediately assumed I was him and ordered me to step away from my brother and turn around so he can pat me down. I was like WTF? He pat me down while holding my thumbs together ready to break them if I make a move.

Then he decides to call in and verify more information and finds out that the other guy's birthday and height is totally different. He lets us go but not a word of appology. He could of further verified my information before hand and avoided treating me like a criminal.

I've had several encounters with police officers, twice for an accident and others for speeding. Never had a rude/power trip one though. For one of the accidents where I was a little banged up and my car wasn't driveable, they gave me a ride.

Say you are the guy in the description. Say you have a pistol on you.

While the cop waits for more information and lets you just stand around, you could've already killed him.

the only encounter with police my whole life, is the one time where i got caught doing 80 in a 65 and he "gave me a break" and only wrote me for 74....

My point is that even many 22yo "men" are not adults, but still boys in terms of mental and emotional maturity. Have you read any of the posts in this place? 😕

If we're going by the posts in this place, I'd have to say that there a quite a few 30-50 year old "boys".

A woman I let drive my car one time drove it off the side of an interstate and down a pretty steep embankment (while I was sleeping in the passenger seat). Neither of us had a cell phone. A cop called AAA for us.

Hey all I wanted was an apology. Seems to me many of them hate to apologize because it would mean they made a mistake.

"I'm the police, I run sh!t around here. You just live here. Yeah, that's right, you better walk away. Go on and walk away... 'cause I'm gonna' burn this motherfvcker down. King Kong ain't got sh!t on me. That's right, that's right. Sh!t, I don't, fvck. I'm winning anyway, I'm winning... I'm winning any motherfvcking way. I can't lose. Yeah, you can shoot me, but you can't kill me."

I agree, you should have killed the cop.
