I've been playing Project CARS at 4K @ 60Hz since it's release May 2015. Not a gamer at all, but I just had to test my system (see sig).

I stream games at 4K to my Shiel TV. While not perfect, still nice to game upstairs in the living room without having to hook my pc directly up.

in the US, if you make 35k a year you are poor. In the UK, you make 20k, and electronics cost more; the more sweg they got, the higher the premium.

now ask me why we dont have 4k monitors here.

55" 4k TV. NBA 2k17 looks quite impressive, noticeably sharper than 1080p sitting from 6' away. I think on most games turning on AA does not make a noticeable difference, unlike in 1080p.

I'm fine with 1080p to be honest (though I say that without having tried a 4k screen). I don't think I'll even consider 4k until 4k frame rates are comparable to current 1080p frame rates. Frame rate is waaaaay more important to me than slightly smoother edges, etc.

I have, via my 55" UHD HDR TV but for most games my GPU isn't enough so I generally just stick to 1080p.

Yeah this is why I can't do 4k really with my PC. I don't play every game that comes out, just a few select titles here or there on PC as I also play on a PS4 Pro. I can't keep the visual standard + frame rate up at 4k to compare with what I can do at 1080p. I find setting games to ultra or very high at 1080p looks better than medium or low at 4k for the same frame rate, sometimes less depending on the game. I'm not ready to invest in a new GPU, but I really need to do a rebuild at some point anyway but CPUs haven't been compelling enough for the whole process. For the few games I do play on PC I'm fine right now.
