For creating CDs I like Nero.

For making backup CDs, CloneCD.

Both are excellent programs by themselves.

Nero. I have had EZCD creator 5.0 platinum also. I had problems with EZCD creator. I have had no issues whatsoever with NERO. It is not quite as intuitive as as EZCD but IMHO in is far superior.

Im using Easy 5.0 Platinum, but Ive heard of others having problems with it in XP. Nero seems to be happy with most OS.

I use Easy CD Creator 5 Platinum, Nero, and CloneCD. All work fine, none have given me any problems at all.

/sarcasm/ What? No votes for XP's own coaster burning program? /sarcasm/

EZCD 5 (Custom install, unselect Take 2) works like a champ with Roxio's XP patch and update.
CloneCD for copying CD's
NERO seems to be recognized as superior and it is also a great choice. But I've never had any problems with modern versions of EZCD creator.

Well, I will have to second the motion of most other people here. I use Nero for general burning and Clone CD for copying CD's. Both are awesome and work really well. I had EZCD 5 Platinum, but it didn't play well with my setup and won't burn a "true" ISO image, so I taped a quarter to it and tossed it in the trash can.

Nero for buring, although I just used Feurio to do some cool digital editing
effects, such as DJ style music overlap, etc. etc. Check it out as well! You can download the full
functional software for free (need to ignore annoying reminders).

I've used EZCD 5 on XP and wasn't too please with its performance and had minor complication installing the software at first. Used it for several months then swithed to NERO. It works a lot better...

You know, if I want to quickly and simply copy a bunch of files to CD, XP's native burning program is easy and reliable. I've burned over three dozen CDs with photos on them, and every one was good.

I'm currently using Nero and have no problems running it on winXP. Make sure you download all the updates from their website so you don't burn any coasters ;)

Lots of votes for Nero. The one I use insists on writing the image to a temporary on my c: partition, which quickly runs out of room (I intentionally made it small). Does Nero allow you to customize where it places temporary files?

Go to my Computer, right click on your burner, select Properties and than recording... now change the temp directory..
