My Guest account is turned off and the only profile I have is my administrative profile.

After joining a workgroup in my home so that I could easily share files and a printer with the woman I am now required to click on my profile on startup before entering my password.

It used to choose this profile automatically.

Thank you in advance for your technical support.

From TweakXP
Go to Start/Run, and type 'control userpasswords2'.
From Users Tab, Uncheck "Users must enter ...."
A dialog will allow setting a user and password to be used automatically.

I want to enter the password. My roommates have a tendancy to get onto my computer if I do not and I enjoy having my computer lock from screensaver (this way if i walk away and forget to come back to the computer they cannot mess with my junk.) For this reason I cannot use BIOS password to protect my computer either.

I just dont want to have to click on the profile icon. Everything was Kosher until I joined the workgroup.

So you just want to see a Windows2000-style username/password prompt where you can enter your password, is that the right idea? How about go to User Accounts in Control Panel, click "Change how users log on & off", and uncheck the Welcome Screen checkbox, will that work?
