Have to build a computer for a friend, what do you think?

Hi there,
I build a computer with the following components, and would like to ask you, if there are any known problems with the configuration below:

MSI-6380/K7T 266Pro (had two of those mobos and had no problems)
AMD Thunderbird 1.4GHz 266FSB
512MB Majorbrand DDR Ram
Mitsumi Floppy 1.44MB
Toshiba SD-M1502 16x DVD
Plextor PXW2410TA 24x10x40x IDE
Matrox Millenium G550 DH
Creative Soundblaster 128 PCI
Titan Heatsink and Fan, can't find a better cooler here in Switzerland
Compucase "Athlon Case" with a 300W PSU
Seagate Barracuda IV 40GB

That's all for about 1630 CHF = 1000$. He doesn't need a Monitor, Mouse or Keyboard. What do you think about this computer? It won't be overclocked, nor used for gaming. Just for pure working.

Thanx

Not sure about Seagate drives, used to have loads of problems with them many years ago, maybe they've improved. I am and always will be a IBM fan for hard disks.

Oh, and don't do it, unless you're prepared to start hating this guys guts when he phones you up regarding every little thing.

Yeah I know the I-build-the-computer-and-I-am-responsible-even-if-he-fvcks-the-computer-up-scenario, but he's acutally a co-worker, and he knows how to use a computer, just want to save some $$$

SB PCI128 joystick ports are pains in the butt to sort out and aren't worth the hassle, use a cheapy Live Value or something similar.
They sound better any way😀

Looks fine, but really if he wants to save money, I would get a cheaper Matrox G400 or 450. 550 really just adds that Head Modeling or whatever, when compared to 400/450. And Seagate is ok, but I'd get a Maxtor or Western Digital.

Thanx for all the replies. So they hadn't any Matrox card in stock, so I just ordered a GF2MX 64MB(I know it's unnecessary, but they hadn't the 32MB model in stock).

I also had to order the IBM 60GXP harddisk, cuz the Seagate Barracuda IV wasn't in stock. I hope everything works fine 😉
