Have prices dropped on OMAX monitors?

Like everyone else I am bummed that NeoV lost his job over this deal. I think it's a good lesson that our "community" needs some better behavioral controls that we impose on ourselves.

But I'm curious, since I am still sitting on a 19" monitor, if the prices have actually dropped. Anyone have any luck getting the PX-986 for the $130 price? Thanks.

And please don't flame me, as I am one of the people who didn't bother the OfficeMax staff, just waited for this forum to tell me about the price drop.

If that's the best use of people's time, that's okay. But since this is still an ongoing (possibly) hot deal, I think it's appropriate to post here. But hey, that's just my delusional model of the universe!

I was wondering if they were reduced too. I've already made 3 wasted trips there and I'm not makin' another unless someone confirms the price reduction.

We went to OM today and did not see anything marked. They had a 15inch and a 19inch is all. The 19 inch was the newer model I believe. I do not have any of the skus anymore so I am not sure which ones were supposed to go on clearance. Both monitors were the Mirage brand.

The 986 was never listed as one of the ones that was going to be reduced. The 982 was listed.

Ok guys...here is the scoop....I went to OM this morning (Sat). to get the markdown refund.....went to the clearance area and lo and behold...some of the monitors from the list were there....BUT, this is because this is all this store had from the list....no prices were on them....so I asked a rep to check the prices, they had 3 of the HP-MV50 17" for 100.00 and 1 of the Proview 19" 982....which showed 130.00....the 986's were still regular price on an endcap by the regular priced stuff....I went to the cashiers and had her check the price on the TFT sku and it showed 139.00 as Neo said they would.....so I got me a big fat refund of 360.00.....looks like those that bought the 986' are SOL....and will be bringing em back....should of listen to NEO the first time....if they weren't on the list, don't buy em........Oh yeah......manager said he was expectin me back today....said they got a memo with the download about the forum postings. He recited what he could from memory....said something about expecting some customers and to be courteous to anyone coming in that bought any of the monitors last weeek that were on the latest clearance update and to thank them for shopping at OM.....
