Have Our Leaders Been Running Scared of the Terrorists?

It's an interesting op/ed piece at the least. I don't think it's only the Repubs though. The Democrats were just as involved in the House shutdown. I understand the need for the President to be safe, but some of these actions do seem ridiculous.

Someone should ask the author of this article where he was when he wrote this piece...

Its easy to say things like this when you live someplace like North Dakota, and arent the target for a terrorist attack. Use a little common sense when judging those in the public eye, and think what it might feel like to walk a mile in their shoes. Theyre only mistake was to be a public official in a time when terrorists began picking their targets.

I'm not saying the author is right or wrong. I do think it's an interesting discussion topic.

I didn't vote for Bush in '00. I think he's doing a pretty good job now, but I still won't vote for him in '04 unless he does something incredibly endearing between elections.

<<his vice president hides for days and weeks at a time>>

I should hope so. I don't want the terrorists to know where he is.

<<the House of Representatives votes to flee the nation's capital>>

Again, better safe than sorry, right?

<<the president spends as much time as possible away from the White House (from Camp David to China)>>

Does he really spend as much "time as possible"? He's in China now to build political pressure against Afghanistan--we need all the support we can get.

<<Bush flees like a rabbit when America is attacked, and then goes to one of the sites only after being shamed into it.>>

Again, during the first hours after the attack, did anyone know everything was completely safe? It was evident that there was a massive coordinated attack against the U.S., and who know what the next targets might have been. Without intelligence information, everyone had to assume the worst-case scenario and try to remain as safe as possible. And he was "shamed" into going?

This is not the kind of divisiveness we need right now. I suppose the GOP has some similar manifesto against the Dems, but this article isn't very appropriate or objective.

LOL! I think that says enough.................if it were a Dem. in the Whitehouse it would be Reps. writing this so..........

As far as the actions of several..........As I saw it, there were just as many Dems. leaving DC..........I also wonder exactly what this guy would be doing if Anthrax was found in his office???? It's all political posturing and propaganda and nothing more..............😉

If that is the best the liberal whiners on that site can come up with to disparage the President and our current administration then we are in very good shape.
