have I ruined my repair partition?

I have a Vista laptop that allowed me to hit f11 to get into a repair mode and reinstall Vista.
That exists on a partition.

I made a third partition and now have dual boot to Vista and Win7.

That f11 trick doesn't work anymore. The partition is still there.
Is there a simple way to get that back?

You can try and reinstall the software that allows or creates that partition. HP has a recovery software cd that comes with it. Do you have something similar?

I have no actual recovery disk.
It exists in that second partition that I used to access by hitting f11 on startup.

Have you tried making a set of reccovery disks using the Windows software that Compaq/HP installs on its PCs?

I don't recall seeing any. Will have a look.
