"Upgrade for what reason"?

You've given us absolutely no information about HOW this PC is to be used.
If your desire is to be as vague as possible, you've succeeded.

Please post future vague threads in the "Off Topic" forum.

You could always get a nice, comfortable chair. Don't bother with an X-Fi, IMO. You may as well pick up another 2x1GB for ~$30 AR, if those deals are still around. If you don't mind spending more on a better graphics card in the future, a 24" LCD would be nice (although triple monitors introduces lots of problems, so YMMV).

You are probably best off just saving your money, though.

Ok, you're just bragging here.

TV tuner.

Man, I wish I had your sound system. Are you running 2.1, or have you already upgraded to 5.1? If 2.1, there's something else that's missing...

go to 4gigs of ram, (even though xp will only see around 3), then consider going penryn in January and selling your q6600, (or maybe selling the 8800gt and getting 3870's in crossfire?)

Personally I would get an X-Fi, preferably the Auzentech Prelude if you want to burn money which is what I think you want. Or new speakers would be a good choice too.

Other than that, I would probably get Vista x64, and another 2GB of RAM.

More memory, Vista x64 and the Auzentech Prelude

edit: our rigs are pretty damned similar.

speakers? the logitech z5500s are nice, if you wanted true 5.1 via optical or coax. you can also go with a higher resolution monitor (one that does 1680x1050, 1920x1200), a nice mousepad, a comfy awesome chair...another 8800GT 512MB for sli, another 2GB for more ram (but you need xp or vista x64 to see 4GB, but xp 32 sees around 3 - 3.2GB max), buy a larger hard drive for more storage (500-750GB are really cheap now), mod your case with some lights or whatever...buy a blu-ray reader or writer to playback movies....upgrade your soundcard to an auzentech or something.

that should give you SOME ideas, haha!

Um...the LX4 remained on MaxPC's "best of the best" list until they were discontinued. Probably the only real "upgrade" here would be the Audioengine5, but they are exclusively a 2.0 speaker system...no surround capabilities for gaming.

That would require a new mobo. The Gigabyte uses an Intel chipset, and Intel does not support SLI, they only support Crossfire...not that this matters anyway, since this board only has one 16x PCI-e slot...
