I just got pulled over on the way home from work (11:30PM).
It's way to tempting coming home this late. There is hardly anybody on the road. I've only been on this shift for a week and a half, but I've been doing 50 in a 40 to the 101, 85 in a 65 on the 101, and 85 in a 75 on the 10. I knew I was pressing my luck every time, but I always kept my eyes open.
Right as I'm about to get off at my exit, I see a cop car in front of me while I'm doing 85. I thought, that was close, as I take my exit. I turn right off the ramp, and left on to McDowell. I take off and was doing about 60 in a 50. All of a sudden a cop pulls behind me (different one) and turns on his lights. He comes to my window and asks me if I knew why he pulled me over. I said, I was speeding? He said no! Ha... and asked me if I thought that was a yield or stop sign back there coming off the ramp. I was dumb founded. He took my license, came back, and said hmm, you were speeding too.
He let me go, and I'm very grateful. I was just approaching a working zone too where the fines were double.
This was the first time I've ever been pulled over in the 5 years I've been driving.
Anyhow, the fastest I've ever driven is about 90. That feels like 120 in my Mustang. They weren't very aerodynamic in 66 so I haven't felt like pushing it any harder. Not on the street or highway anyhow.
