Still gathering the pieces for the BEAST in my siggy.
I'm getting a vantec-520a psu for it as well as the dfi sli-dr.. my question is how do i know how many fans i can actually support

Panaflo's from BGMicro

and am getting this case

that supports 4 or 5 fans
Optional: 2 x 8cm (at front) + 1 x 8cm side fan. 2 x 8cm / 1 x 12cm rear fan

does the vantec have enough connectors to power the fans? I've never built a comp so i dont know where the fans are connected to.

Edit: read on the sli-dr manual that there are a total of what looks to be 5 - 3 pin connectors. But one of those is going to be used for the cpu heatsink which leaves me to 4 connectors...

Edit #2: My heatsink fan has a 4 pin molex male and female which to my guess is a pass through... Would i connect that to the cpu power connector to my mobo and then connect the cable from the psu to power the mobo to the passthrough from the fan?

Have you considered wiring/tailing the fans yourself? I have 2 front and 2 rear Panaflo L1A that I tailed in pairs so that they only take up 2 plugs... you could even run the wiring for all of them to some convenient, out of the way location and plug them all into one connector. Their power draw is pretty light even if you have a bunch of 'em.

Wow... clever clever, i'm not interested in soldering though, too many ps2 modchip installations. How would you go about that?

All you need to do something like that is some wire connector hardware, a crimp tool/pliers and some electrical tape/shrink tubing. No need to touch a soldering gun whatsoever, though you can use one while doing it if you want some easy practice. ;)

Scenarios:
4/5 fans each with a passthrough, can i connect all of them in a chain and then into one connector on the motherboard? psu?

4/5 fans 3 pin, could i tail all of them together, in a sense chain them together??

[x]___[x]___[x]___[x]___[x]___ What goes at the end of this chain?

a crude design of ^fan^wiring

Edit:
if anybody can send me pics of the way they have their pc case fans done that would be awesome, jcandelario@gmail.com
Although visual reference is good, if anyone could show me some guides to this whole thing that would also be amazing
