Have Celeron 566, which MB will best get me to 850?

I have a Celeron 566 with 128MB of PC100 memory and want to pick up a motherboard that I will have the best shot at hitting 850MHz.

I have read dozens of posts and just when it seems I've got a board selected I find a post where someone had a complete failure with the MB.

I am looking for...

Socket-370
AGP slot
success of C2 566 at 850
Full ATX (not micro)
Priced $110 or less.

Help!

Altho I've never used it, I can pretty much guarantee success with an Abit BE6-II, they have billions of FSB frequencies...
Other good boards are:

SOYO SY-6BA+IV
ASUS P3V4X
ASUS P3B-F

and also, about the socket 370 thing, most good overclockers are in Slot-1 format and the slot converters work fine, i have my brand new PIII 700E running at 805 right now, default voltage, i am waiting until i get some PC133 that can handle the higher bus speeds while at CAS2, I am using an Asus S370-133 slot converter and all is good on my Asus P3B-F mainboard.

I bought a cheap $40 Pro133A m/b and it is perfectly stable at 850mHz. It probably will do more, but 850mHz was my goal.

And if you want to jump on the intel815 bandwagon, over 110

All these mobo have frequent bios updates. Mmwave is not always the cheapes but they are a first class operation. Would recommend them to anyone.

Celerons and VIA chipsets, certainly are not my recommendation, as they do not perform as well as a BX Board. Personally at this point, if I did not get an 815 board, get a BX board, such as the MSI BX Master or 6163pro. Both are great and that is what are in my test stations, where a test a couple hundred chips a month. :)

Compuwiz,
Have you ever tried BX-Master+AsusS370-133+Cel566? The most i can get it to run stable is 90mhz FSB at 1.8vCore.Tried 95mhz but hangs during 3DMark2000.Also runnin Kingston PC133 ValueRam and Rage Fury Maxx.

Thnx,
Wixer

Wixer, I have tried the Iwill II's, Abit !!! and MSI 6905 Master. I have not tried the Asus. I will say that the MSI has taken cpus to 850, where the other two would not, using the BX Master. You might try using a slotket from the manufacturer of your motherboard. :)
Then there are just some 566s that don't make it too. I've had an inordinant number of those lately.

Wow,

A lot of choices, and most of them are slot 1. I was really looking for a socket 370 motherboard. Are the socket 370 Motherboards less successful at overclocking than the slot 1s with the slotket?

Madrat, what brand of via pro133a did you get for $40. All I am looking for is stable!

I have also been toying with the idea of upgrading my computer by buying a new motherboard, and a c566 and have been watching the posts about the c566 and motherboards, and have seen a few people mention the abit bx133-raid, but I haven't seen anyone post any results with using one, I know they just shipped, but I was wondering if anyone had had a chance to try one out in this or any other similar o/cing test...
thanks

So my friend's mobo died - Abit of course.

He's getting a Wiz-certified 850 so I've recommended:

Asus CUSL2
Asus P3B-F
MSI BX Master
MSI 6163 Pro
Asus P2B

no Via boards, not really because of the speed, but because of the compatibility issues. The i815 is probably too expensive and hard to get. The MSI's are harder to get than the Asus boards. Onvia has some, but he doesn't want to wait. Who in Montreal sells them (Brossard or downtown)? The P2B is a good board but a bit limited, as is the 6163 Pro in some ways.
