I'm not a apple fanatic, but the touchpad is really, amazing. Once you are use to it, it's really something.

I recall hearing something like 'If after you get a new widget you can no longer stand using the old widget, then the new widget is worth it.'

Basically, after using the trackpad on my MacBook for 2+ years, I really couldn't tolerate trackpads on any other laptop except intel macs. Not even newer PCs with scrolling and all that, they just aren't as nice.

Every time I use my wife's Dell I sit there cursing the fact that I can't 2 finger right click or scroll.

I am just glad I was able to get a program that would let me 2 finger right click on my PowerBook. I used to be able to scroll too, but lack of updates from the dev means that it is no longer able to work on the latest version of Leopard.

Stopped by the Apple store yesterday and played with the Trackpad and I like it a lot! I plan on ordering one in 11 days

No, this is not a joke, this is Apple's new product. Yup, it's a giant, buttonless trackpad. I'm sure it will sell millions.

So i guess you're in full retard mode today arnt you? Ever heard of a buttonless Bamboo Pen tablet? They are a great to own.

Looks like this will be great product for Final cut, logic studio and garageband.

Mouse on the right, trackpad on the left (I'm left handed and use a mouse right handed), best of both worlds.

it has some use, trackpad gestures can be done with either hand, whereas reaching for the mouseis always on one side..so as a matter of convenience if its in front of your kb somewhere it can be nice

Do you think they will do a better job with it compared to Apple?
OS X was somewhat built for multi touch. I don't think the same can be said for Windows 7.

Plus if it feels like any of those trackpads you find on a Windows laptop it is going to fail.

I used the Bamboo type pad before and I couldn't get used to it.. it just wasn't the same. The MS one might be good for people not already accustomed to the Apple one.. but for me.. Apple's is beyond perfect (even better with Better Touch Tool).

Before I purchased my MBP I absolutely hated track pads.... now..I'd prefer it over a mouse, unless gaming of course.

I still love how the OP said 'buttonless' when it has more functionality than any PC's track pad.

No, it was rather a tongue-in-cheek poke at the people saying the Magic Trackpad was a stupid idea. As if Apple was the only major company doing it. ^_^
